Best ever purchase, 2010-02-16 Bought this netbook when it first came onto the market and have never looked back. Battery life is superb and it is ultra portable, use it for travelling and home use and with the built in camera, i can now contact and see my friends and family all over the world at the touch of a button (with the help of skype).
Cant recommend this netbook enough, ok there are newer versions on the market but i imiagine i wont be upgrading for a long time to come.
Good purchase, 2009-12-23 I did a lot of reading around before purchasing this netbook and the NC10 was almost always praised. I have not been dissapointed at all. It has met and exceeded my expectations. It is obviously no work horse. But for everday tasks it handles them very well. The build quality is good and the look is very nice. I upgraded to 2Gb RAM straight away, so I cannot tell you how well it runs on the standard 1Gb. I have had it for six months now and it has not missed a beat. I would definatley recommend it. The only thing is does struggle on is playing HD youtube videos in full screen hich is a bit strange as avi's and other video formats play fine in full screen.
nc10 white, 2010-01-05 have used this for a while and its very nice, found it to be much nicer in white than the common black version, has a useable keyboard and a large 160GB harddisk, a little cracker of a machine, hardly use my dell 9400 inspirion which cost 3times as much anybody want a dell ?????
Good product, ignore the 3 star reviews., 2010-03-16 I wish people would distinguish between software and hardware when writing reviews. Hardware wise I have had no issues what so ever. I chose to add an extra 1GB of RAM and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. As such I have also had NO software problems.
If you are not comfortable with upgrading your NC10 (plus adding some extra RAM) then you have to ask yourself whether you want a machine that will be running Windows XP for the rest of its lifespan? Personally I would not as XP is so dated...
Other than that the product is perfect for a netbook. Don't buy this if you want to watch high definition movies, play games or encode video :)
Beautiful, 2010-01-05 I spent many hours reviewing netbooks online as I tried to understand the plus' and negatives of each netbook. There are many out there each good and bad in its own way but eventually I decided to put my trust on the Samsung NC10 (White).
Turns out that the decision was a great one! SInce I have preffered netbooks to laptops simply for their size and for what I need them for. However, what makes this netbook better than others is:
- The machine is well built and feels very strong
- The white colour is a pearl white and with a matte finish, it doesnt show fingerprints
- The startup button is located on the side of the laptop and feels solid unlike some plasticy buttons on other netbooks
- The general design and layout has been cleverly crafted
- The machine battery life is much better than many other netbooks and comparable to the ASUS 6 cell Netbook battery length
- The Hardrive should suffice most peoples needs - for documents and photos or any reasonable amounts of music files
- Comes with a soft material carrier case
Though there are newer Netbooks out since this, I think the desihn of this particular netbook is almost perfect and certainly feels better built than any Acer, MSI Wind, Medion netbooks I have looked at. I have the ASUS eeePC 1005HA which is newer but I have to say, SAMSUNG NC10 is a more complete machine
