Very misleading..., 2008-11-28
The device does work, but the description is quite misleading. I thought that I'd be getting something that would allow me to use my USB hard drive as a network drive so that all the PC's on my home network could access it. No the case. This allows only ONE PC to access the storage at a time, which means that if someone else was looking ay photos, for example and I wanted to listen to some music, I'd have to run downstairs, and ask them to disconnect, then run back up stairs and click connect. I could just as easily carry the hard drive up and down the stairs with me and save myself £25!!! This is not a replacement for a proper, shared network storage.

I Purchased this before reading previous reviews,Had a little trouble setting up the device.But eventually made the right pc connections,trouble is that I was expecting to much of this single port device.It would connect then disconnect itself and sometimes would not be seen whatsoever.I think the problem might be down to the small power supply possibly.I returned for a refund.

Not having much joy with this - attempting to put a WD MyBook (250 Gb) USB hard drive onto my BT HomeHub as a NAS drive on Ethernet port #2. It works - just - but connectivity is very intermittant, requiring frequent hard resets, and absolutely refused to recognise MyBook when NTFS formatted. Bit of a pain. Both desktop (old with XP) and laptop (new with Vista) see same issues. Might not be the dongle, but then again...
