But that’s only part of the story. Feel the curved, all-aluminum and glass design and you won’t want to put iPod nano down. Great looks and brains, too. The new Genius feature turns iPod nano into your own highly intelligent, personal DJ. It creates playlists by finding songs in your library that go great together. Made to move with your moves. he accelerometer comes to iPod nano. Give it a shake to shuffle your music. Turn it sideways to view Cover Flow. And play games designed with your moves in mind.

A good looking dinkey little product easy to use, except itunes is a bit fiddley when putting photos onto it. I got a very nice clear case free with a special deal iPod Nano Case - PG603 IceBox as to actually be able to see the nice colour without greesing and scratching it.

There does seem to be a problem with it disconnecting when doing certain jobs such as putting photos on (every 5 or so pictures it will say diconnected and then carrys on) and when using my old charger for the mains (unable to charge at all). But this is most likey a faulty cable and it seems fine with putting audio on.

Extras and in the box: genius is helpful for random but actually good playlists, accelormeter (however its spelt) is fun and cool especially for games. Colours are very nice, screen is very qood quallity headphones are comfortable but not special.

This is the first iPod I've bought. I'm returning it on Monday (NB. I didn't get it from Amazon). To start with it took about 3 hours to get it on iTunes. It kept saying it had detected iPod in recovery mode and had to be restored. Click restored, same problem. No mention that there was a more up-to-date version of i-Tunes 8.0.1.11 rather than version 8 which I'd downloaded last week. Downloaded that and it finally recognised the iPod enabling me to name it and sync with library.
Back on my laptop at home, wanted to sync it with the music I held in that i-tunes library. It blew 2 out of 3 USB ports with power surges (they are USB 2.00, it needs 2.00) and the other one didn't even know it was there.

The start-up guide supplied is very brief - "plug it in". The earphones are awful. They don't stay in your ears and leak sound like water from a rusty bucket. Oh and the 8GB is 7.3GB.

If you get it working it's pretty dinky. Easy to move around the menus, light, just the right size..love the colour.

I'm not a complete IT idiot but found the problems with getting this to work initially and not being able to get it working on my lappy really frustrating. I am very disappointed.

An up-date on the above - the problem was a dodgy USB cable. That has been replaced and it works great. Annoyingly on Apple's support site there was no mention of the "Power Surge on USB port" If you get it - try a new USB cable.
