Don't Bother, 2008-09-07 I had to make a choice between the Sony SR55, Sony SR35 and the Panasonic SDR H40. So I went for the Panasonic as it was cheaper. OMG what a load of rubbish that was. The image quality is awful. Anything other than perfect lighting conditions and it is of no use. Too sunny and it struggles. In low light it struggles and when I say low light I mean anything indoors. It is juddery, pixellated and you get a trace on objects as you pan.
So that went back and replaced it with the Sony SR55. It is 10 times better. picture quality is far superior and working with the finished file was also easier as it is in mpeg2, something that was much harder on the Panasonic.
Excellent for the price, 2008-11-22 I bought this camera only a few days ago, but I disagree with the previous comment, for the price you can't get better. This is only my first camera but I have been very impressed, this works inside and out whatever the lighting without the shake that was previously mentioned.
