Fantastic Little Printer, 2008-06-11 I have just purchased this for £29.99 from Sainsburys and am extremely pleased with it. I purchased it as a replacement for an Epson DX7400 which was blooming awful. The cartridges in it only printed about 40 pages before they ran out, so I purchased compatible ones, only for the DX7400 not to recognises them. I have now seen sense and gone back to HP. I have always used HP printers and always been extremely happy with them, and although the original ink is expensive I have usually found them to last a very long time. It is also very small so it fits into my PC desk no problem. Very pleased with the results. Excellent quality.
Good value for money cheap printer, 2008-08-26 Good overall printer for the money, does have a slightly cheap feel to it and it is quite noisy. Software installs fine on windows xp, this printer does not come with a usb cable. Print quality is quite good, but the ink runs out quickly and the normal cartridges from HP are expensive - buy the extra large ones from advantage-online instead. Good value for the money but if you can afford it go for something more expensive.
Its not that bad! Quite worth the money, 2008-11-01 Its not all that bad!
It does drink quite a lot of colour..
Quality is good.. I did have a slight problem in the beginning, but its quite fine now.
Good for students! Not too expensive, and its got the things you need!
I've removed 2 stars because, 1. It drinks a lot of colour
2. documents don't print that fast, unless its draft quality.
Slow and expensive on ink. , 2008-09-27 Although it has its drawbacks, it nevertheless does posses HP's classsic printer engine and is compatible with usb1.1.
Not easy to install, 2008-07-04 A nice cheap printer but not easy to install.
If you are computer savvy then you should be ok with installing this printer. If not, you may want to avoid unless you know someone that can help you.
There are three times as many steps than there should be in the installation instructions. You don't insert the installation CD until Step 13! I spent over an hour on the phone explaining to my father how to install the printer on an XP computer. The installer software is far too complex. It even gives you an error report each time it fails, although what use that is to the non-IT user I don't know.
