I use this tablet for drawing concept art, every day.
It works so well with the spring tip and airbrush settings in photoshop, far superior to the cintiq, as your hand never gets in the way of the image. I use it with a 19" monitor at work, and a 20" monitor at home.
You need a monitor that is roughly the same size as the tablet in my experience.
I will say that drawing on it has taken me about three years to get used to, but now I don't even use paper. So it has saved a few trees too!
If you want to use it for drawing - I would suggest you buy painter X as you can turn the canvas as you work - although the new version of photoshop CS4 will have this feature too.
(inside tip - if you can find and a4 intuos 2 then they are technically the same as the intuos 3, just cheaper and without the annoying buttons you tend to accidentally press when drawing)(you can turn them off btw)
Also, don't buy this if you have a widescreen monitor, get the widescreen tablet version of the A5!

Are you a photographer? Do you edit your photos on your pc? If you answer yes then you need one of these, they make photo editing so much easier.

I bought this to work along-side CS2 and it works perfectly. The pen is very easy to use and the airbrush is a laugh although I think I need to spend a lot more time perfecting it.
The mous is absolutly hopless but that's ok beacuse I've left my normal mouse attached to the PC.
The only rael problem I've found is that the tablet is so big I had to redesign my desk to suit it.
Overall this is a great peice of kit, if mine broke (god forbid) I would have to buy another as going back to a mouse would be awful.
