Poor build and sound quality, 2008-04-22
I really like the concept but this is a second rate version. The build quality is poor and the continual back ground hissing sound is very distracting. Tried placing the transceiver away from all other electrical devices, but to no avail, still hissing. Don't bother.
Does not do whats on the box, 2008-12-05
I am not in the habit of writing reviews however..... I paid the best part of £90. for my BT Aqua Twin handsets & for the first 3 t0 4 months everything was fine.
Since then, hissing, shutting itself down & a 25 minute talk time allowance from each handset is what I have had to get used to. (Not what was promised on the box!) I have just this morning purchased the BT Verve 450. Will this also prove to be yet another BT wolf in sheeps clothing? I will keep you posted!
I should have listened to my mother when she said pretty things are never good. I would reccommend this phone only for those who have more money than sense.
Quirky fun design, but flawed by hissing speaker, 2008-05-07
I should have heeded the advice of the previous review. The design is fun and quirky. The phone feels more solid than the older BT Mango and having the base station separate from the phone charger means you can keep the phone in a different room to your phone socket. But, and it's a big BUT, the built in speaker has a constant hissing noise. The voice quality is good, but you can't help but listen in to the hissing sound. Get another phone instead.
I'm going to return this and replace it with a BT Verve 450.
A top quality DECT phone - stylish with substance!, 2008-08-12
I bought the BT Aqua phone and haven't looked back since. The handsets are easy to use and the sound quality is pretty good - fortunately I haven't experienced the background hissing noise that other reviewers have mentioned. It's a stylish phone - all style and lots of substance!
The BT Aqua has a vast array of features which are both useful and simple to use. I found the SIM copying feature, and the text messaging facilities particularly useful and again easy to use.
I would definitely recommend the BT Aqua phone to anyone - particularly those who want a simple, easy to use DECT phone bundled with many, many functions.
