Works in Vista?, 2008-08-26 I have been using Vista since its beta, and have been using the Trackball throughout. This trackball Does work in a limited fashion in Vista - it has access to all 4 buttons (left, right, middle and backbutton clicks) which is perfect for use in 3D animations applications (personally use Maya). I have had no problems in anyway. There is no need to install software for use as a three button mouse - Vista will install the appropriate driver for you.
the scroll dial/spindle works perfectly as well - basically for me 3 primary buttons plus scroll and back buttons while working in all 3d apps is perfect.
I have 2 of them and an older expert mouse pro which is no longer supported by kensington under vista (vista only sees two buttons)
fantastic solid feel to the trackball (has a good weighty feel) looks pretty smart too. Only downside is the lack of programmable buttons which i have never had the need for.
THIS PRODUCT IS OBSOLETE, DON'T BUY IT!, 2008-06-12 Kensington have decided not to support Vista for the Expert Mouse, and therefore you are wasting your money as under Vista, only the trackball and the two mouse buttons work. The four buttons cannot be programmed. Also do not try installing the XP software as you will then have to reinstall your entire operating system as I had to do, after talking to Kensington "Technical Support" for over 30 minutes on an international phone call. A complete joke of a company, and I will be barbecuing my trackball as soon as a reputable company that supports its customers emerges with a superior product. I have 5 of these wretched things, because they are the best trackball on the market, but unfortunately, they have Kensington selling them, they are the joke, but they are laughing at us. What kind of company designs a product that won't work on the latest operating system? Kensington.
