We bought one of these from Asda, and it is the best freeview box we have had so far, so when my mums old panasonic box started to play up, we decided to get her one aswell.

I bought this product at £25 and find it performs very well in all respects. It is unobtrusive in appearance, of good quality and very easy to install. My aerial was upgraded just before I started using the box and this probably maximised performance.

Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5 Small box with a big led, 2008-12-10
Had this wee machine for a few weeks (bought from Avides media ) and it pretty much does what it should do.Well,mostly.Two faults - firstly the EPG does not seem to update and more often than not will only show the next two programmes. This makes the built in timer fairly redundant, meaning you have to visit Tv guide to find out what's on.Secondly, the unit's LED that comes on when the unit is on standby, is so bright it makes the Death Star's planet busting laser look like a streak of wee from a sickly child. At least the supplier provides a two year guarantee, considering that I've not yet had a freeview box that lasts this long, (the previous unit being a Panasonic which popped it's capacitors with a bang that made the dog jump out of her fur)then I can only presume that at some point I will be boxing it up to wing it's way back to the supplier after it's demise.just like electric toothbrushes,(now filling up a landfill near you) the freeview box seems to not last very long.About three months after the guarantee runs out in fact.

Had read the (rather mixed) reviews on here but decided to take a chance with this box because of its size and price. Only had the box up and running a week, but so far I've had no problems at all with it and been really impressed - none of the freezing etc experienced by others. The box itself is sleek and shiny and considerably smaller than many other competing boxes. The remote is also quite small but very well organised and comfortable to hold so that all functionality is in easy reach. We are in quite a strong signal area - maybe why I haven't experienced problems? - so picture quality is good and the menu system is user friendly and very responsive - none of the delay we experience with our other box. Considering getting a second box the same now for our kitchen tv!

What a load of rubbish, clearly released before its fully tested. Will not be buying any Philips products again. Just keeps crashing, buy a humax, so much better.
