A masterful film, 2007-11-10
Comment: This film version of Verdi's opera shows off the talents of Leo Nucci and Shirley Verrett who are both excellent singing actors. This is probably the best version available with an informative documentary showing how the film was made. This is where you will see Claude d'Anna's insights into recreating one of Verdi's masterpieces. I am always bowled over by Shirley Verrett and here, I am happy to report that she gives a performance of a lifetime. Highly recommended!
