Do you speak French????? Me neither!, 2008-10-15 Do not buy this printer if you only speak English!
On the product description everything seems lovely but when your brand new printer arrives and you open the box. The french instructions, cables and faceplates hit you like a fly-kick from a frogs leg.
Of course nowhere on the product description is France mentioned o no, in fact its stated as "Localisation UK" and the company is of course Pixmania UK!!!
I had to go out and but an adaptor plug for the french cable. The pathetic piece of plastic they call an adaptor is ridiculous. All the button and instructions are also in French so I dont have a clue what im pressing!
Custmer service is also an abomination. they stick to automated computer generated replies mostly. when i finally got through to a person and told them about their breach of the sale of goods act, they stopped replying.
STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be careful, 2008-09-23 I didn't order this printer in the end. I suggest you read the supplier's reviews before ordering. Note that it comes with a UK adaptor as it is shipped from France - something which I could find no reference to on the main page for the product, and only found out when I clicked on the 'used and new' link. Furthermore, and weirdly, they won't ship to my address which although an island has a normal uk post code and costs no more than any other address in the uk. I'm going to get the HP DESKJET-D1460 instead.
DCP-150C, 2008-07-19 I bought the brother DCP-150C, after reading lots of reviews, it is a great all rounder for the small home office. I wanted a printer that was cheap on ink & had a fair picture quality, & boy did I get it & more, the scanner & stand alone copier are both really easy to use, but the main thing for me was the quality of photo printing it really is fantastic & to top it cheap, the cartridges are individual colours, so you only replace the empty ones & they are cheap to replace.
Great all rounder, 2008-09-10 I bought one of these in New Zealand it was $80 (40 quid) having got fed up with my thirsty a crappy Canon.
I needed to do some scanning pretty urgently and wasn't really looking for an all in one but the price was the same as a scanner so I went for it.
The machine is simple and solid, easy to use software and absolutely no teething problems.
It also came with a full set of cartridges (some manufacturers just give you a cartridge containing a small amount of ink in the box). You buy the cartridges separately so that should keep the cost down.
By luck I bought a great little machine, really pleased with it....does anyone want to but a Canon printer??
Good printer, bad service, 2008-09-28 Bought this from Pixmania via the Amazon website on the basis that it was " Localisation UK" - see technical details on product page. As delivered, it isn't. It comes supplied with a UK 3 pin adaptor plug but the continental power lead doesn't fit the supplied UK adaptor. The printer has a face plate for the controls that is customised for each market/language. This is a nice touch from Brother but if you buy from Pixmania, French and Dutch (?) versions are supplied. The web site suggests returns go back to an address near Coventry but when I went through the process, out pops an address near Paris.
