This is a cable that connects your PC to your TV. You can play a DVD, Movie on your PC and watch it on your TV with this cable. Download movies from the internet. Works like a treat, and it's cheap, 2008-11-12
On a Toshiba laptop with a built-in S-Video port under Ubuntu 8.10, this worked straight out the packet. Turn computer off, plug cable into computer, plug into TV, turn computer on and there was my laptop screen on the TV! It was in colour without having to adjust any settings, just plug and go.
The quality isn't great--I can't read text as it normally appears on a webpage. But then, it's only three quid. I brought this for watching videos through my computer on my TV, and it works a treat for that.

This product is great, allows you to view your laptop on your TV IN COLOUR!!! :-). Just make sure you follow instructions in you laptop hadbook and plug the cable into the laptop with the laptop switched off. Then the screen may appear in Black and White but you simply change some settings in the advanced display settings and it will be shown in colour :-)...just look on the internet for help on changing the settings to make it work.
And btw, it is not just this product that will mean you have to change the settings, you will with all the scart to s-viedeo, this is as good as any available, and for the price...well, its a Billy Bargain!!!!!! (even after P&P)
