I have just purchased this item and I give it 5 stars. I have a D Link wireless router all ready, but after having difficulties with microsoft downloads, which caused my pc to crash,I could not get a connection from the dongle attached to my pc and the router. I tried to download the information required to my old dongle, but to no avail.
I have just set up the new one,which being a click and connect it is so easy to do it only took me 5 minutes. I am not a technically minded person, but the instructions are easy to follow.
The phone line is in a different room to the pc,that is why I need the dongle.
If you have an ADSL internet connection then this is the router you need.
This product also has an 11 year warranty. I told my daughter about this and she had not heard of any other company giving this kind of warranty.
dlink customer service hassles, 2008-05-27
bought the unit, had problems, contacted dlink support (offshore) and have had a bad experience so far - they agreed the unit needs to be replaced, promised a call back that day, so far nothing (two days later). DLINK, get your act together, this isnt acceptable, especially considering the price of the unit: this will be the last time i'll consider buying anything from you unless your service improves...

although the CD setup program would not recognise the internet connection and had to configure through manual system, it was very easy and I am delighted that it all worked - I am running XP and have added both a vista system and XP pro laptop to the wireless network - the CD setup worked fine for adding the USB wireless adapter. XP pro machine require WPA rather than WEP encryption. great !

i bought this item a few weeks ago, modem/router excellent haven't had to reset once, quick to set up and quick to get a connection, old one took forever to connect,on the other hand the usb adapter that comes with it is a total waste of time i tried an old g adapter and was getting far better speed than this n adapter,my computer is downstairs and modem/router upstairs but less than 3 meters away, couldn't keep the signal just kept droping out,old signal g adapter no problems with, no drop outs, would have given 5 stars but for this useless n usb adapter will look into getting a new n usb adapter, but you pay more for other modem/routers that are not as good as this one on theyre own,so i would recommend buying this even if you don't even use the adapter

I bought this router to replace the smaller DLink originally supplied by my ISP.It works much better than the old one - it took about 5 minutes to set up and worked straight out of the box on a desktop(direct link) and 2 Wifi laptops. Measured broadband speed has doubled. Operates at up to 270Mbps. Router comes supplied with ADSL splitter and a wireless dongle - this worked fine on a laptop with no Wifi. At under £70 with an 11 year warranty, this is a great buy. Don't forget to enable the WPA or WEP security when you install (easy to do and stops unauthorised access).
