Brilliant wee moose, 2008-05-28 As I wanted to have a mouse to use with my laptop that had no cable or additional USB stuff I opted for this bluetooth one. Arrived the next day thanks to Royal Mail & when switched on & followed windows Vista found new hardware windows that popped up it operated straight away. Did not even have to load the disc that came with the mouse as all worked fine. This unit also has an on/off switch & comes with its own wee travel bag too.
Nice mouse bad interface, 2008-11-30 I bought this mouse to go with my Sony VAIO Z-11 and it looks and feels really good. The VAIO notebook comes with Vista installed but I downgraded to Windows XP straight away.
When I installed the Logitech software the mouse briefly connected OK but after a few minutes a warning came up that the Bluetooth Licence was no longer valid. I then spent a fruitless 8 hours trying to re-mate the mouse with the notebook, but despite following numerous web guides, I failed to do so. I also encountered problems with the operating system (such as files not copying and the Windows installer failing to kick in).
The mouse probably works OK with Vista, but the XP downgrade (on a VAIO) doesn't seem to work. Maybe someone else could comment on this.
Another warning - the wireless switch on the VAIO Z11 does both Wi-fi and Bluetooth together and warns if you select both to be on at the same time (through the software) that they are likely to interfere with each other. So if you want to use Wi-fi don't try to use a bluetooth mouse. I have ordered an RF mouse and will sacrifice a USB port.
Excelent Mouse, 2008-09-10 When my Apple Mighty Mouse failed after 3 days and I really wanted a bluetooth mouse for my new MacBook I decided to try this Logitech one.
It is small/compact and thus easily transported but large enough to be easy to use. Light and moves easily.
It worked immediately, is comfortable, easy to use, reliable, etc. I am very satisfied.
I would thoroughly recommend it.
I did not install Logitech software and have always used it as a standard bluetooth mouse. This seems to provide all the functionality I need (including left and right scroll as well as up and down using the wheel). I did read some negative comments about some versions of the software (re: conflicts with Growl) but I also read there were solutions - but I felt the standard operation was all I needed.
Unstable, 2008-09-05 I find the mouse to be quite unstable and difficult to control precisely. I have reloaded the software twice but it has not made a difference. Logitech are very poor with responses as all they seem to do is send standardized replies. They don't deal with particular questions. I wonder if they bother to read them.
A little disappointing, 2008-12-05 This is a good-looking and small bluetooth mouse. It is easy to set-up configure and a pleasure to use. My only gripe is that after 2 years of moderate usage the microswitch on the left-click is malfunctioning. It now reports double-clicks when you only do a single-click and it is impossible to drag things or select large areas of text because the mouse refuses to report that the button is being held down.
However, when the device was working, it was a dream to use. You have to decide if only a couple of years good use is worth the price paid...
