Perfect - should have come with the SatNav though, 2009-01-01
Given the price of my TomTom Go 930T it really should have come with one of these - but that's a reason to drop a star from the StaNav itself. As for the case, it is excellent and I'd recommend it without qualification.
It's a semi-hard fabric case in a black matte plastic finish with a zip, form-fitting and secure. The lining is red satin, with a TomTom motif across it, and the hinge is prevented from opening flat by black elastic straps on each side, so the StaNav slips in through the opening. There's a TomTom badge on the outside so it will be obvious what's inside to passers-by.
It's very likely to prevent serious damage the next time I drop the SatNav and was well worth the price I paid for it here. The wrist strap is fine too, attaches to a fabric loop on the outside.
This is NOT for the Go x40 Range of TomTom's, it does not fit at all....., 2008-11-14
Do not buy this for the Tom Tom 540, 740 or 940 as it does NOT fit!
I bought one from Amazon and gave it to my wife for her x30 range TomTom.
There is a new specially designed case which ONLY fits the x40 range and this is not it!

Don't listen to the negative feedback, The TomTom is shaped with a curved bottom. It is quite easy to put it into the case incorrectly, I did it myself the first couple of times. When you do, it is possible to do the zip up but it is a real squeeze. Get it in right, and the case fits snug and tight, and the zip does up perfectly. Just get used to it first.

I bought the case for my 530 and paid for it separately in the hope that the quality would, to a degree reflect the quality of the 530 or simply because it is a brand addiction thing because there are much better deals on the market if you look. I was under the impression that part of any design process was to ensure that your final design is somewhat sympathic to the application it is meant to perform. May I suggest to the person who designed this zipper mechanism to head straight back to school AND that he should NOT cheat on his exams! How difficult can it be? It's only a zip for heaven sakes! It is not honest to invent a reason to return a purchase but I am currently accepting bets that in the very near future there will be a very valid reason to return this pile of pathetic rubbish. You can definitely find better quality for less!
