I was persuaded to buy this by the review of someone with an outdoor office with an environment similar to my own. I too have my ADSL connection in my garden office separated from the house by 90 feet with reinforced cabling and I seriously doubted it would work. In fact the plugs do work, with a little wobble now and then but it is far better than the wireless which did n't work at all in my daugthers bedroom. Now I am typing this review from my daugther's room using the homeplug devices.

The product seems to do what it says and I had no difficulty in setting it up, it was a case of plug and go.

I bought these as I was unhappy about wireless, both for privacy and (potential) health reasons. Out of the box they worked perfectly first time. Brilliant.

A couple of months later I was doing some work in the summer house which is about 30 feet from the house, and realised that I needed to access the web. As I already had trailed an extension cable from the house so I could use my laptop for more than 30 minutes - the time it takes the battery to go flat, I decided to try my luck and plug in the adapter into the extension cable as well. I didn't hold out much hope, as it says on the box it doesn't work on extension cables - but it did! The Powerpacket utility reports a high quality signal, and a speed of 77.35Mbs. I'd like to pont out that it was only a bog-standard extension cable - I use it for the lanmower too (although not at the same time!) and it was plugged into a different "ring" to that of the other adapter. Perhaps I've just been lucky?

These things are just so easy to use that even a child could do it. Got these to connect my Xbox 360 to the net without having to trail cables around my house. Box comes complete with 2 plugs and 2 ethernet cables. Connected 1 plug to my router and the other to my Xbox at the other end of the room. Switch both on and was instantly connected and downloading demos. Haven't even looked at the software that came with them, don't think theres a need unless you want to password your plug access. Well worth the money and will be buying more when a WII arrives at Christmas.

I bought couple of pairs of these after encountering them at a friend's house. He's an IT manager and likes their secure network aspect - no nosey neighbours using or listening to your wireless network. For me, living in a very old house with very thick walls wireless didn't seem to be an option but these things have brought broadband to the whole house. Speeds are fine, perhaps not quite as fast as listed, and I haven't yet tried linking my son's Wii to the network but it works very well and does so straight out of the box - set up was about 90 seconds.

After a disastrous attempt at wireless networking I decided to give the homeplug a chance. Never looked back since. Just plug em in and away you go. Connection strength is good & at time of writing this review, reliable (software claims 60Mbps with my modem downstairs and the computer 1 floor up). Recommend to anyone who is pulling their hair out with wireless routers.
