Well we like it, Ok the water it produces is not boiling but we think its fine for making tea!

After getting one for herself, my daughter bought us one of these for Christmas. Yes it makes a noise but, as a few people have already mentioned, definitely no more than my kettle boiling and a lot less than my coffee machine (and you can't hear it upstairs!). It's true that it doesn't quite fully boil water but it produces water at about 90 degrees C which is MUCH hotter than the 'lukewarm' description given by some reviewers. My wife is quite particular about her tea but thinks it's hot enough for a good cup. Yes, out of the box it only fills a small cup automatically (probably for safety reasons) but it's designed to be programmed to measure out the exact amount you want every time. It's simple to programme and also, if you want a little more water, you can easily start and stop it manually. It does pulse a little but so far I haven't had to wipe up any over-spray - I don't use tiny cups which probably helps. Yes, the 3 seconds is to the start of the water going into the cup but it still fills the cup much quicker than putting the water into the kettle and waiting for it to boil. More importantly for saving electricity, you only heat what you use. It's great to be able to sit down with a cup of tea within a minute of hitting the button - beat that with any kettle! Having used it several times a day for the last week I can thoroughly recommend the Quick Cup and if my daughter hadn't bought it for us, we would definitely have bought one for ourselves after having tried hers.

I am GUTTED. I love the idea of this as I try to be as environmentally friendly as I can. I thought it was my imagination about the water not being quite hot enough, but no, a friend said the same today. Luckily I only bought it 2 days ago, so I shall be going back to Argos to get a kettle! Tefal, please please get this to product hotter water for a great cup of tea :*)

I saw this product on the Gadget Show in the UK and thought it was a great idea. Saves electricity, time and the planet. What could go wrong?

Well, it is certainly quick. Notice I didn't say quick to boil as the water you get is very hot but not quite boiling, which seems to make a pretty rubbish cup of tea for some reason.

Mine also stopped heating up after about a month and got consigned to a cupboard, where it still lies. The old kettle is sadly back in pride of place.

having read a lot of reviews I was a bit unsure about purchasing the tefal quick cup. I am glad that I ignored the bad reviews, the temperature of the water is perfect for making a cup of tea or coffee. The water container holds enough for a 4/5 good size cuppas. If you are expecting boling hot water then stick to your kettle, but if all you need is water for a nice hot cuppa then this will be perfect for you.
