A1 performance, although set-up could be made easier, 2007-10-30 Comment: Bought this cable router/USB bundle from Amazon as the price is so cheap compared with the separate selling price of the DWA-140 USB key (currently £59.99 in PC World) and the DIR-635 router (currently £89.99 in PC World).
Pros:
1. Very stable connection - 2 floor house - running desktop and PS3. No drops yet and very stable connection, 60% signal on PS3 downstairs (one ceiling and one brick wall) which would be calculated as over 150mbps (as max speed is 300mbps), and 270mbps speed connection is showing on desktop - 2m away).
2. Price - very cheap price for bundle with Draft N capabilities
Cons:
1. Installation with no security worked out of the box plug in and play. However, applying security features were not so easy to install (for a novice). The quick-start guide on the disc came up with a DNS error and would not synchronise anything. It was not until a friend who had a little more experience with networking logged me into the 'admin page' that I could actually set this thing up properly. Instructions of how to do this are shown in section 1 under the troubleshooting guide on page 2 of the manual. Unfortunatley, I relied on the disc only. Unless you know what you are doing, novices like me may have some trouble configuring the settings when logged into the admin page, so if it wasn't for the long-winded set up, I would have given this router 5 stars.
All in all though don't let the installation put you off buying this cable router. As it is top class for performance and is cheaper than the Netgear Next WNR834B router and USB bundle which is currently on sale for £99.99 through the Dixons website, which I was told is on par with the DKT-410 for performance.
