The worst hoover I have ever owned, 2007-06-09 I don't know where to begin in describing how amazingly bad this machine is. It's heavy and difficult to manoever when in use - half an hour's hoovering leaves me totally exhausted. Emptying the blasted thing (which needs doing after every use) is a nightmare - the emptying 'hole' is too narrow and so you invariably have to reach in & clear the dust out by hand, a very unpleasant and messy job. Finally, the system for winding the flex and stowing the accessories is so complex that we still haven't mastered it! Whatever you do, do not buy this hoover!!!
Absolutely awful product, do not buy, 2007-09-12 I have owned this machine for just over 4 months and the condition of my new (cream) hall carpet is appalling. Despite being promoted as ideal for pet owners this cleaner definitely does not pick up hair, human or otherwise. In fact, after vacuuming, I have to go round and collect clumps of hair and bits of thread by hand. Also, when I used the "carpet revitalising" function, it threw out so much grit and dust that I had to use a damp cloth to pick everything up as the machine simply could not handle it. It was difficult to put together and did not come with any operating manual at all. The hose and attachments do not fit properly onto the machine and are constantly falling off. Although it is quite light, it is very cumbersome to carry. I have given it 1 star and that is because it is quite good at collecting dust; however, if you have an animal or someone in the house who is losing their hair, do not buy this product! A dustpan and brush will do a much better job. Worst machine I have ever owned.
On the other hand..., 2008-03-03 While I hate to contradict the above reviews, so far I've had a completely positive experience with this vacuum.
The suction is fantastic - the amount of stuff it drew out of my two rugs on the first couple of runs was brilliant and shocking - and the cable is long enough for me to plug it in in the hall and do the whole flat, which is not exactly a shoe box.
The turbo tool that comes with it does a great job in refreshing the sofa cushions while the extension hose and its attachments give plenty of flexibility and 'stretch'.
Certainly, the hose is a little fiddly when it comes to disconnecting it but that fades with use.
Of course, being a bloke, the question of weight is not really an issue for me, though I can't say that it was neither here or there when I've lifted it.
I suppose one point I should make is that I have hardwood floors with rugs, so I don't use the carpet setting too much. When I so switch it on, it is quite loud and it does make it slightly harder to manhandle - but then I have thick rugs and that is probably a factor in slowing it down.
Also, I don't own a pet, though it seems more than up to the job if I did.
All in all, it has made my flat a lot cleaner, to the point of reducing the number of times I have to actually use the vacuum. Less vacuuming: can get a better recommendation than that!
