Plugged into an XP laptop, connected to an HP 2100.

Apart from installing the software and changing the port (windows is sometimes useless with USB printers) worked like a charm.

This product sucks, it does not include drivers for most OS's despite the packing information. Save yourself time. Do NOT buy it.

Like Dr Cheeseman above, I tried to connect a HP Laserjet 6mp to a works laptop that only has USB port. Similarly NO instructions were provided however upon plugging the cable in it detected the correct printer right-away (I thought that was it, unfortunately not!)...however it then only prints a line of rubbish/garbage instead of what you wish to print. Despite getting HPs online wizard, updating drivers, increasing print memory...essentially everything possible...it still doesn't work. Can't find any help on the net for sorting out this unintelligible font issue....don't buy these products!! It just wastes your life...leave well alone.

It says its supposed to work for xp driverless, but the device didn't recognise when i plugged it in. It just shows up as unknown device and doesnt work.

I have an old HP Deskjet 520 printer which is the best printer I have ever had. 10 years of faithful service and excellent quality too. Thanks to this USB to Parallel Printer Cable 1.8m, I was able to connect my printer to the laptop I have acquired recently, and it works very well and hopefully may give me plenty more years using the HP Deskjet 520 printer. One very satisfied customer!
