The signal is no better than my old 'wireless G' card and the vista drivers are very unstable. Every so often, seemingly at random, the card switches itself off - forcing me to go into device manager to disable the device and then re-enable it before it will work again. Sometimes doing that doesn't even work and I'll have to reset my PC just to get my connection back.

I have a 20MB connection through Virgin Media and apparently a 102MB connection to my router, but the internet speeds I get tell a different story. At most through wi-fi I get a 1.5MB connection speed (Used various speed test sites).

All in all I would recommend getting a different card.

On a side note I'd like to add that I got this card when it was new, with 'Vista Compatible' blazened on the box. However it had no Vista x64 drivers at all for over a year after release. The next card I get will not be Belkin!

unlike the other two reviewers this is doing the job for me so far.

I bought this to go into a media-centre upstairs (under the telly) which has to talk to a router at the other side of the house.

Initial installation was a real pain since it just wouldn't install from the CD. As I was having other installation issues with the machine I moved it downstairs to sort it out and connected the pc to the router through the LAN port. Once it had a connection to the internet it immediately installed the wireless card by pulling drivers from the internet. So to install it easily, do so on a machine which is already connected (which is a bit ironic isn't it?!)

Once installed it has been stable and performs well (Vista 32bit OS), it pulls in a much stronger signal from my belkin G adsl/router than either of my laptops in the same room.

And it's ready when I upgrade the router to an N

I just bought this card from scan and at first i was dissapointed as it seemed not to even fit my msi p7n diamond motherboard. After a bit of persuation it seems ok now and even picks up 1 bar (of 5) from the other side of my house without the aerial even connected!!! I am genuinely suprised and it is incredible compared to my old Dlink dsl g510! A MUST BUY!!

Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5 Poor range and utility software not working on XP, 2007-10-04

Purchased, new, Belkin N1 N-draft router and this Belkin N1 desktop card. We found two problems:
1) Although the drivers work, the utility software provided by Belkin to view wireless connections and adjust settings would not work on XP or Vista. It would show no wireless in range, so you had to use generic Windows wireless.
2) Signal strength received was the same as a G rated inbuilt wireless laptop. So range is poor. Speed was good though, we got 160Mbs.
