Instructions ... ? , 2008-06-21 Am really annoyed with this little thing. Had been reading reviews to try to decide what I should get as my first external hard drive after Id filled up my laptops memory. I bought this and have just had a nightmare knowing how to WORK it. There are no instructions, the user manual doesn't actally tell you how to USE it and although I've been able to download the software and copy all my files onto the HD (I think) I have NO idea whatsoever what to do now. I don't know how to access the files, how to use it to store what I would normally save onto my computer's hard drive. It's really, really rubbish, totally frustrating and completely not good enough
Do not buy..., 2008-11-01 Knowing WD to be a leading company in hard rives you will not expect that their product will be a total waste of money. This portable hard drive is so underpowered that probably will not work in your laptop. I bought one 10 months ago and I have only took it in one long trip with, hardly carrying it around all this time. Then problems with repeating autoruns started, with data getting lost or corrupted and finally the hard drive becoming totally useless. So time to try the WD support services!! I will say try alternative ones if you need your peace of mind with your data.
BY FAR THE BEST EXTERNAL HDDS, 2008-11-12 If your looking for a fast, no nonsense and reliable external HDD that looks cool then look no further.
When i was doing the research into which external to buy for use with my most sensitive data i.e music production files, the name that would always come up was western digital(the same HDD in macs btw) and i can tell you that they are by far the best in everyway portability, reliability, speed, and looks
One short usb and thats it for power and connection
Buy it you wont be sorry
Hard Drive, 2008-11-22 Good little sized HD. Does what the packet says, but be careful it MUST be plugged straight into the computer and not via a non powered USB hub. If the hub is powered its fine but otherwise you might find it wont work that well.
Useful and great value for money, 2008-09-22 I've had this external hard drive for nearly a year now and I haven't had any problems with it. It connected easily to my laptop and then I just began dragging and dropping files into it. It's as simple as that. It's great value for money and it's got durability.
