First of all, what you get in the box is not the same as the picture on it. The picture is of a keyboard aimed at the US market; the UK market keyboard is different. A lot different. In particular, the miniscule left shift key is a real problem. Why Microsoft had to make it so tiny is beyond me.

Furthermore, there is a distinct lag between what is typed and what appears on the page; for touch typists it'll prove annoying. Also, the mouse is heavy and requires a pad, as it drags on smooth surfaces.

On the plus side, the keyboard is definitely well made and has a pleasant keystroke action. The software installed without fuss (I use XP Pro) and there didn't seem to be any problem with reception (although I never strayed beyond two feet...).

In conclusion, while it might suit some, it didn't suit me.

As someone else noted, this keyboard often misses keystrokes. When you're typing this is a major pain. Also, when holding down a key, the keyboard's lack of sensitivity means that it will register the key as being released before it actually is. The gimmicky bits (eg favorites buttons etc) are nice but ultimately not that important. In summary then: nice to look at, but not actually very good for typing or gaming. Oh, and the mouse is battery hungry. Given the price this should be a whole lot better.

I have had this for a long time now, I can't even remember when I bought it!

I have had nothing but positive experiences with it. Honestly I'm 99% positive on the set, the only 1 percent of grief Ive had is the reciever once in a blue moon not picking them up and needing moving around about.

Don't let that or the reviews put you off, its a brilliant set.

I've just returned mine after 2 weeks of trying unsuccessfully to get used to it. The mouse was great and the feel of the keys themselves was good (hence the 2 stars), but the minuscule left-hand shift key makes the keyboard next to useless. As others have pointed out, the actual keyboard is nothing like the picture on the box. Could it be the result of a bodged adaptation of a US layout to a UK one?

I bought a wireless laser desktop 6000 4 months ago on the high street, and have just returned it.

a) left shift key on UK keyboard is very small and nothing like US layout on the box

b) the space bar stuck and stopped working

c) yesterday it stopped working all together

I have gone back to a wired comfort keyboard 2000, and am loooking out for a good wireless combo, pref. bluetooth, with a 1000 DPI+ laser mouse and a full sized keyboard incl. numeric.
