Brilliant piece of equipment for either your laptop, PS3 or your desktop computer.

Setup is easy and approximately 20 minutes, although if you have Windows Vista installed on your computer you will need to get an update for the 54Mbps USB 2.0 Adapter via the internet.

My PS3 quickly found the router. You WILL need to enter the WEP key in the security stage (when it gives you a choice of 3 security options) on the PS3, or the router will block it out because of its double firewall. Once you have finished the setup on the PS3 you'll be automatically connected.

I would definitely recommend the router and if you are worried about the speed this is not an issue for online gaming on the PS3 as 54Mbps is more than the required speed. I don't know why the manufacturer recommends an N-MIMO or Super-G router, maybe it is just for the signal strength or the distance. Also web surfing and downloading items is still fast.

Works fine for me with both PC and Laptop, XP and Vista. It is not quite plug and play, but not far off. The installation disk does most of the hard work, but depending what you're doing, there is some advanced configuration to do. e.g. encryption, ip routing, access permissions....... The odds are that if you know you need to play with the configuration you'll know how to change it! The connection to my provider is solid an reliable, the wireless range is good (no problems with internal walls etc...) and it looks cool too!

I bought this product with fingers crossed having endured 18 months of patchy performance from my first router a Belkin product (not from Amazon)which drove the whole family mad because after I installed a new PC on the network it would knock the childrens PCs and Xboxes off the internet whenever I switched it on. I was convinced that it was my new PC that caused all the problems and there was no chance that just getting a new router would solve the problem.

From day one though this Netgear router has delivered perfectly and so far (1 month on) everything works extremely well irrespective of how many of the family are online. Not only was it very easy to set up and install, it handles online multiplayer gaming, 2 Xboxes at the same time with no trouble at all, even though the diagram on the box suggests you need a more powerful machine.

One very tiny cloud was the USB pen. Although it installed easily on my Vista PC, I had some niggles getting it to work on the kids XP based PCs because the software on the CD was faultly (missing or faulty cabinet files apparently) but it was easy enough to download the right drivers direct from the Netgear site. Once this one done it worked perfectly. So excellent product which solved all my problems.

I also arranged express delivery from Amazon which is only pennies more than first class and got it ahead of time, so well done Amazon.

I've not had any trouble at all with the router. It worked first time with my daughter's brand new lap top, which runs Windows Vista.
However the adapter is another story! This was for my 3 and a half year old desktop Dell PC which has a fairly high spec & is running Windows XP Service pack 2. I disconnected the wired modem and followed the Netgear instructions precisely.
It worked OK so I deleted my old connection. Then it started slowing down and losing the signal. Then it got to the stage of not connecting at all. I must have uninstalled & re-installed it about ten times to no avail. I went on my daughters laptop & read the reviews again on here. Tried various things, none of which worked. Then I read a review saying I should install the latest driver for it. This is not exactly a piece of cake with no internet connection! So I reinstalled the wired modem & downloaded & installed the new driver. Also I disabled Windows wireless Zero as the review also said. It worked fine for a while, and is quite happy with both the PC & the laptop on the internet at the same time.
TIP If you are going from wired to wireless make sure you download any new wireless drivers while still wired up. You might not have to use them, but it's much easier to have them ready on your computer waiting for you if it should transpire that the use of the latest drivers is an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY!
I reckon I'm fairly good at this kind of thing, but the driver problem must have wasted about 6 hours of my time, so I wouldn't go for this kit unless you are quite technically minded & have plenty of time on your hands!
Update. Still more problems with the adapter. I have eventually fixed most of them but had to spend many hours on it. Eventually found that it works better if you let wireless zero control it. Basically this gear is supposed to be plug & play. The reality is many hours of wasted time. My advice would be that if you have Windows XP then DO NOT BUY THIS.

I had a Belkin 54g wireless router that gave me nothing but problems. Tried their customer support................wasted effort.Rebooting system sometimes three times a day.
Checked out the reviews for the DGB111G router and ordered it.
Works fantastically in exactly the same envirnment as the Belkin failed in.Set up was no problem and I have an second computer working fine next door. The signal is steady as a rock and I haven't had to re-start once.
Fully endorse this product.
