CanoScan 4400F Scan with Quality & Versatility
Recently I had to get a scanner, to scan forms completed by clients and email them to my company head office in Switzerland. Although I would get the money spent back from my company, I didnt want a really expensive & complicated scanner.
Enter the Canoscan 4400f...I have found it easy to use straight out of the box, the software installed like a dream, I was scanning my first few pages quick and easy.
I really liked how you could create PDF documents from scanned items.
I do not use the photo-negative scanning features, as I only shoot on digital these days.

is it possible to use the scanner without the film frame holder ? i need to scan 35mm full frame
 Disappointing for old slides, 2008-11-24
I own two Canon cameras and a Canon printer - all excellent. I therefore bought the Canoscan 4400 with confidence. What a disappoint! I have over 2000 older type 35 mm slides, and had hoped to convert the best of them to photos via computer. The results are way below acceptability. I didn't expect professional quality, but at least a reasonable amateur standard. I have wasted my £60, and DO NOT recommend this particular Canon item.
Excellent bit of kit for the money, 2008-11-22
I haven'tt really given this scanner much use yet, but my initial impressions are very good. I have already tried scanning in some old photo's, slides and negatives and the results are much better than I was expecting. There is also some decent software included which allows you to enhance your scans, remove scratches, enhance colours etc...
The only slight let down is the rather flimsy slide holder attachment, and blanking cover made from card. This is not likely to bother me as it will only get occasional use.
I would highly recommend this item, for the price it is excellent.
cloning problem, 2008-11-07
I received my 4400f very fast, Thank you Amazon. but,,, I am having trouble trying to use the Clone tool. After scanning the document I click on the clone window, and try to use it, Then a small window keeps popping up saying, "please shift + click," I have tried shifting,, left mouse clicking, every thing possible, but that window pops up every time I click my mouse, I even re-loaded the whole programme again as per the book, Please help, Regards,,,,, George,,
