I've always beleived that if you have carpets, a Dyson is a MUST HAVE! I delayed buying one, mainly due to cost (although it's worth every penny) and I am so glad I looked on Amazon. After reading all customer reviews on all models, I decided to invest in this one!

Every Dyson is well known for its super cleaning power and this model is no exception but with added advantages - it's light, fantastic on hard floors, swivels round and under furniture easily and is brilliant to clean the stairs due to its long extendable hose. The bin might be a bit small for a big house or for new carpets etc. but it's so quick and easy to empty, it shouldn't be an issue.

What more can I say? Go and buy one, you won't regret it!

NB: Although it's quick and easy to assemble, prepare yourself for a fight with the packaging! Stay calm!

I've held off on buying a 'good' hoover for years, then when I got 2 new carpets laid I thought I'd give in and make a big purchase. Well how I wish I'd done it earlier, this thing is fabulous. The last cheap hoover I bought on here (terrible waste of money) terrified my daughter with its high pitched whine - she'd run for cover. This one doesn't bother her in the slightest. I was worried that I'd find it difficult to use as there are only visual instructions, but no, it's really well designed and user friendly. It's very light too and easy to handle. The telescopic part can stretch right to the top of my stairs (I have 13) so there is no need to cart it all the way to the top. All this in addition to fantastic suction and cleaning power. If in doubt BUY THIS MACHINE!!!

I didn't realise how great my Dyson was until I used another vacuum cleaner recently. They are expensive but worth every penny. This one in particular is great for carpets, tiles, lino etc. and very light to manoeuvre. It is also suprisingly satisfying to see the amount of dust you are picking up. And it's really easy to empty. A great cleaner if you are lazy but like a clean house!!

I am disappointed with this machine. It is supposed to be a lighter model, but I still find it heavy to carry up and down stairs. We have a very dusty farmhouse and the machine does clean well and is easy to emply, but for the price I wouldn't expect little things like tools that won't stay on board and cable that has to be wound round two hooks.

We didn't find it hard to assemble. It's hard to fault, but yes the mechanism that locks it upright is a slight 'get the hang of it' job. We've had a DC01, this replaces our dying DC07, which i can't bring myself to throw out yet. Is the DC18 worth £80+ more than the DC07. No. Unless you simply have to be able to switch the brush bar off. I would have bought another DC07, but my wife and children adore the 18. Oh the tank is small, but what do you expect with a slimmer, lighter model ?
