Comment: This is Blood & Fire's sixth reissue CD of material in which reggae vocalist and producer Yabby You, 'The Jesus Dread', has played a prominent role, but quality control ensures there is no lapse in standards. This was originally a 1977 album release, Yabby's third, and it is perhaps a little more varied than its totally dread predecessors in that several love songs are included - not that that in any way dilutes the power of a classic reggae set from the golden age, with the likes of Sly & Robbie, Tommy McCook and other heavyweights supplying the backings.
Value for money comes with the addition to the original running time of four extended twelve inch mixes and two sides previously only on an exclusive dubplate, all from the same era. Blood and Fire releases are invariably recommended to anyone with the slightest interest in seventies roots reggae; this one is no exception.
