Amazon.co.uk Review Scrabble Classic is the Rolls Royce of Scrabble games. It has polished wooden tiles, wooden tile racks and a classic game board. This is a return to real class--just like buying a vintage car. Scrabble play consists of forming interlocking words from letter tiles, rather like a crossword. The object of the game is to score the highest number of points by making the longest words using the highest scoring tiles. Each player has seven letter tiles that are replenished after each turn and forms a word on the board with two or more letters from his rack. Players can only add letters to those already played, either forming new words or modifying those already laid. Scores can be hugely boosted by forming words across the double and triple letter score spaces and double and triple word score spaces. The game ends when all the tiles from the pool have been taken, and either one of the players has used all his tiles or no-one can form any more words. The player with the highest score wins. Scrabble seems to have been around forever and been forever popular. This classic edition is one for those who like to play in real style. --Ben King

Great game, 2009-10-25 Scrabble is a great game - keeps you thinking about words - helps your ability to do crosswords - keeps your wits sharp when you have to fit letters into multiple words. No home should be without one whether there are only adults or adults with children. Children can play when very young. It makes you a better player when you are quick to play and then you don't annoy other players by taking forever. Hopefully next time a game is suggested they say 'yes' not 'oh no!'
An Immortal Classic!, 2004-01-15 I first played scrabble in the form of 'Junior Scrabble' when i was quite young, which i round really fun especially with all the little pictures and colours. Then when i was old enough i finally played the 'real' scrabble i was just amazed at how good actually was it was.You get your own little rack where you put you seven tiles and then on your tuen you can put down any number of your tiles to make a word, or to modifiy another players word. For each word you make you get a score which can be drastically enlarged if your word falls on one of the 'triple word score' or such like spaces on the board. The person with the highest scrore at the end of the game wins. You see, it couln't be easier, and on this board you even get a cool 'turny thingy' on the underside which allows you to swivel it easily to the next player. If you are looking to improve your English skills or your spelling in a more enjoyable way, then Scrabble is definately the game to get A absolute wonder which will live on in board game history and will entertain families for a good few years yet to come.
Wooden Scrabble, 2010-03-11 This is a very well made classic wooden Scrabble. All the pieces are smooth and well made and are very pleasant to touch. The letters are not just printed on the wooden pieces but are etched into them. I think it will last for many years. The only thing missing for me is that the Scrabble score pad isn't included in this version of the game.
Poor value for money, 2005-01-10 Poor value for money compared with later editions: no pencils, score-pads, bags for tiles. Dissatisfied. Exaggerated sales pitch. Jeremy P. Fawcett
The best skill-based board game in the world!, 2004-12-02 Scrabble is incredibly addictive, sneakily educational and it brings people from all walks of life together. What more could you ask from a board game?
