Amazon.co.uk Review The Emperor's New Groove was originally developed as an epic called Kingdom of the Sun and lost scale and most of Sting's song score (some of which can be heard on the soundtrack) on its way to the screen. The end result is the lightest Disney film in many a moon, a joyous romp akin to Aladdin in its quotient of laughs for children and adults. The original story centres on the spoiled teenage emperor Kuzco (David Spade), who enjoys getting the best of his Aztecan subjects. When he fires Yzma (Eartha Kitt), his evil sorceress, she seeks revenge and turns Kuzco into a llama with the help of Kronk, her hunk of the month (Patrick Warburton). Alone in the jungle, the talking llama is befriended by Pacha (John Goodman), who has just been told to vacate his pastoral home by the human Kuzco. What's an ego to do? That's pretty much the story and the characters--simple, direct, fun--a Disney film on a diet. For any fan of the acidic humour of Spade, this is essential viewing. As narrator of his tale, Kuzco uses a sarcastic tone to keep the story jumping with plenty of fun asides (he even "stops" the film at one point to make sure you know the story is about him). Even better is character actor Warburton (Elaine's stuck-up boyfriend on Seinfeld), who steals every scene as the dim-witted, but oh-so-likable Kronk. There's even a delicious Tom Jones number that starts the film off with a bang. --Doug Thomas, Amazon.com

Good fun., 2010-05-30 The not so avaliable double disc version of the above. Bought this from a trader fully sealed therefore new and unplayed some time after its' original release. Purchased at a fair price, in other words not inflated, in fact at slightly less than what it cost when avaliable through the web and high street shops.
Maybe not one of Disney's best evers' but never less than enjoyable. No doubt it will be will be re-released on Blu-Ray eventually.
Time to Laugh your head off, 2009-01-21 I maybe only 22 but when I saw this movie I was laughing my head off as there is always a funny seen to it and the jokes just keep getting better as the movie go's on, this is one movie I garenty what ever your age will make you laugh, Disney you have to make more like this as this is worth watching.
Fantastic film!, 2010-08-04 This is one of our favourite Disneys! We lost our copy a few months ago and my husband has sulked until I bought it again! It has quite a British sense of humour, but I think it is better for that and we can't wait to play it to our young daughter. After all, what better endorsement can there be than the fact that we had to replace it when it went astray... It does have some "in jokes", but just approach it with an open mind and you may find yourself laughing out loud! And the sound track includes Tom Jones and Eartha Kit!
AWESOME, 2010-02-27 Im 18, and when i first watched it as a child i thought it was the best movie ever and i still watch it, and laugh even more than i did back then. This movie is possibly one of my favourites which rivals even Shaun of the Dead and Pineapple Express. Utterly Brilliant!
A more recent Disney classic, 2009-09-30 Laugh out loud hilarious and fun from beginning to end for all the family.
Well worth watching, regardless of age.
