Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5Average rating of 2/5 unfortunately, not very good!, 2007-10-18
has a lot of work for groups or writing, so no good for self-study. SO many mistakes its unbelieveable (e.g. missing CD tracks, missing answers, extra answers to questions which dont exist, spelling errors just to name a few).

This pack comes with CD, course book and answer key with tapescript. you have to buy the Activity book with all the grammar work seperately. This activity book, saves my rating from being a 1 star. it is a good book with lots of practice. the course book is rubbish. even the feel is out of date. it says it is the 2nd edition published in 2006, but the photos look like they come from the 80's and the layout is not very pretty. certainly not wotrth the money, but good luck if you can find another intermediate course!! also i wouldnt bother if you are a self-study student, you time is better spent looking elsewhere!

Contatti 2 follows on from the first book in the series, and provides a good basis for intermediate italian learners. As a tutor of Italian, I found that although the listening and reading activities were very good in the classroom and for the students (adults) at home between lessons, there was a lack of exercises provided for grammar practise, which I had to supplement. In fact several of my students said that this was their main criticism of this book - lack of grammar exercises (hard to imagine isn't it?). However, in my search for the perfect course book for adult learners of Italian, this book is better than most, even with its few flaws. (But my search continues...)
