Comment: I bought this to learn Dutch in the car, it clearly says you don't need the (separate) book to use the CD. I disagree. It starts off simply enough, though it doesn't tell you how words are spelled, so it's hard to know how to pronounce Dutch words when the spelling isn't given. It then leaps off into passages of people just speaking Dutch, with little or no translations! This is obviously where the book comes in, because without it you're lost.
You'd do just as well to buy a Dutch dictionary and listen to an hour or two of taped Dutch radio. There seems to have been little real thought on how to teach a foreign language, and a lot of the CD is just people speaking Dutch with obvious background noises, almost as if they just stuck a microphone on a table at a roadside Cafe and just started recording to see what they got.
Poorly thought out and definately not recommended.
