You can't put it down, 1999-08-01 This is a really good book about a Russian Communist. I really enjoyed this book as the characters were so real. You didn't want Felix the Communist to get caught, you actually wanted the bad guy to win. If you want to read a good book then get this!
Same old Follett, 2004-03-16 I may be guilty of pedantry here but the Russian in question is an anarchist and not a communist. That said Ken Follett is at his best, taking a historical event and giving it a ficticious twist, and yes, as with his other novels, you do tend to want the bad guy to win. If you're a first time Follet reader I would recommend 'Eye of the Needle', 'Pillars of the Earth' and 'Code to Zero' over this one, but if you've read those then this one will not let you down. Well, not by much.
One of Follets' best, 1999-10-20 Another great book from Ken follet. Out of all his books I would rank this one behind Pillars of the Earth (best book of all time by far)and Eye of the Needle. Extremely plausible novel, very realistic characters, and you simply can't put it down. Finished it in under 2 days
Lovely story, 2005-08-28 I enjoyed every moment of it the first time I read it and enjoyed it still all the five times I reread it.Also recommended: Union Moujik,The Hunt for Red October ,The cardinal of the Kremlin
