I've been programming in C++ for a couple of years now, and Scott's books were responsible for huge improvements in my programming style and understanding of the language.

They've been sat on my desk ever since I bought them, and the only way I could think to improve them would be to give them an easily searchable index, which is exactly what this CD does.

If you work with C++ regularly this is money well spent.

Most authors just shovel the text of their books onto CD and leave it at that. Others make a half-hearted stab at adding a little extra, but Scott has REALLY gone to town. Most of the hyperlinks are there because he put them in there, not because some program or parser put them in. This alone makes it worth having, as the hyperlinks are intelligent and useful. But even more, Scott has included magazine articles and other bonus material. I believe he has gone on record as saying it probably took him as much effort to produce this CD as it did to write "Effective C++". I believe him!

Thoroughly recommended.
