Comment: Although some of Marquez's other work, especialy a Chronicle of a Death Foretold, is a bit wordy and can deteriorate into a long list of names, a bit like the Iliad really, this book is incredible. It was recommended to me by my English teacher, who also recommended Chronicle... and I found it to be an amazing book, it keeps you gripped as you see the characters plunge to the depths of emotional hell.

In short, the perfect book for a teenager.
