Amazing!, 2009-05-23 Okay, so first I saw Fight club, then I read Fight club and was so stunned by the genius, the plot twists and the sarcastic/cynical writing style.
So I bought Invisible Monsters and again I am in awe!
The story starts with a model turned monster (after having her jaw shot off)going on a road trip with Princess Brandy, a strong if a bit insane woman she met in a speach therapists office.
I wont say anymore as I wouldn't want to ruin the shock factor which is one of the best aspects of the story but I will say that this is one of the best things I have read in years!

Amazing!, 2009-02-02 I adore this book. It's one of my ultimate favourites.
The whole idea of it is brilliant. It's typical Chuck Palahniuk - it's a warped logical but it works. I've read it so many times and it never gets old.
Truly a wonderful book.
very good., 2009-10-09 book came in time, very good condition; no wear & tear to be seen.
very happy with it.
would buy from the seller again in the future.
One Star for Style, 2009-08-13 Vapid characters and as the unsatisfying ending neared, I found myself thinking "So what?" and "Hurry up and end."
This book is boring. Granted the characters and story are original & this should constitute enough to make it a good read, but I found it wholly unsatisfying.
There are twists throughout the story but I didn't care about the characters so I didn't care about the twists. This is a plot-driven story and the characters suffer for it.
I feel like I wasted time (though not much because it's a short read) and money on this book.
If this is supposed to be one of his better works of fiction, I shan't be reading another of Palahniuk's anytime soon.
The boring descriptions of what every character wears pads the story, but not in a good way like how Bret Easton Ellis uses this.
However, it does deserve one star for the exciting style of writing.
A Great Book, 2009-07-02 This book is about a woman who was in a car accident in which her face was destroyed. Before the accident she was a beautiful model but now no one will look at her. The book, as like fight club, is full of events that all make sense at the end. The story starts near the end and jumps from one time to another slowly building up this brilliant story. The further you get into the book the more pieces of the story fit together and the more shocking it gets. I was gripped and shocked at every revelation and loved that it wasnt at all predictable. Some parts feel dragged out and needless and the beginning can be a bit confusing with the constant jumping from parts of the story but if you stick with it and get into the story you wont regret it. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes clever books that arent predictable and also any fans of Chuck Palahnuik
