Well, I just thought I'd like add something positive! Got this game a couple of days ago. All the 1* reviews put me off and I didn't really know what to expect. I've played this game for over 24 hrs now and can't find any problems with it. Registering was instant (use uniloc instead of steam), I've had no more crashes than I would have expected (yes even the XBOX crashes sometimes) and the 3D engine runs as smooth as anything. The gameplay is much enhanced by the latest tweaks and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I can't deny the fact that other people have had problems and it may need a system upgrade to get the best out of the game. I'm running 64Bit Vista, 4Gb RAM, Phenon 9850 and NVidia 9600GT. This game ROCKS!

I bought this prior to a family holiday to France. Not having any previous experience of Brain Training, I decided to go for this version rather than the original after reading other reviews, and what a joy it was. I kept the game hidden until we boarded the ferry. When I got it out, I was expecting cries of 'oh no! Not brain training - why did you get that mum??' BUT instead all were delighted, and the whole family, young and old, played it every single day of our trip, and indeed fighted over who's turn it was. I highly recommend this game if you are planning a long journey, or just want to provide your family with some educational entainment that everyone can enjoy that doesnt involve the telly.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)

Rated: Parental Guidance
By Sega

For over a decade now fans have been wondering just what a team-up between Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog would be like. Everything from traditional platform games to complex role-playing titles have been suggested, but it's fair to say nobody imagined that it would finally happen in the form of an athletics simulator. It's officially licensed from the 2008 Beijing Olympics though (Sega already had the license for their own more traditional tie-in) and contains all the usual events you'd expect including the 100m sprint, swimming, judo, table tennis, hammer throwing and archery. Sega have even been talking about using the new Wii Zapper controller for a spot of clay pigeon shooting.

More than twenty-five characters from both universes will be playable in the game, including not just Mario and Sonic but also Luigi, Tails, Yoshi, Knuckles, Bowser, Doctor Eggman, Princess Peach and Amy. Other characters will have cameos as judges such as Cream the Cat and Toad. You'd expect some characters to be naturally better at some sports than others but each has their own strengths and weakness, with even Sonic's incredible speed mitigated by his slow acceleration. The whole game is developed by Sega but overseen by legendary Nintendo creator Shigeru Miyamoto, with full tournament and missions modes as well as online leaderboards for all the different events. The name may sound like an April Fool's joke at first but this crossover could well be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Plus, players now behave according to their physical attributes with larger, stronger players dominating collisions, battles for control of the ball, and position in challenges for two player headers.

I really don't agree with all the critism towards this game. Their have been vast improvements not to mention the inredible amount of realistic stadiums and for a lower league supporter (Urrrrrrz) i was delighted with the graphic levels of the lower teams. All that about "their is a set way to score" is rubbish. It will only be that way if you play that way also to say the celebrations are poor is stupid their are loads of realistic celebrations. Overall i think is a great game.

Since having my DS Ive bought lots of games. After playing them once or twice Ive got bored and put them down and never actually finishing the game.Since buying The Prof game Ive yet to put it down. Some of the puzzles are easy and some have driven me to distraction, but needless to say its addictive.I'd like to know how some have finished it in 10 hours. When I thought I had solved a puzzle in a particular room/area/surrounding and then revisit the same place I find another puzzle. ITS BRILLIANT!!!!! I cant wait for the sequel. I would recommend this game to anyone and everyone no matter what age.

If this cable was 20 quid i would personally stil buy it as the difference it makes in sound and audio qualiy is ridiculous. If you have an hd tv (whether it be 720p or 1080p) i reccomend this, it trulu completes the gaing experience. And amazon have priced it as 15p!! Get one now before they realise the mistake. As you can see that's 99% off, practically free! Buy now, PS3 essential.

p.s I made the fun 4 stars because well fitting a cable isnt my idea of amusement but still great product.

I bought this because my X-Box 360 is located quite some distance from my PC, at first I was skeptical; but it's proven to be a great alternative to the wired option. Simply plug it in and search for your wireless connection via the console itself and it works. - It looks sleek too, not taking up too much space on the back of the console. 100% recommended for people looking for the wireless alternative.

Wii Music (Wii)

Wii Music (Wii)

Rated: Everyone

Turn your Wii into a musical instrument! Wii Music lets you try your hand at numerous musical instruments - jam with virtual band members, or up to three more of your friends!
Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5Average rating of 5/5 It's just a game, don't take it to seriously!, 2008-11-24
I have read the other reviews on here and note the points made but i have got to say are you taking it to seriously? My family have had this game two weeks now and we are still playing it. So, why have i given it five stars? Its the simplicity and ease of the game for everyone that makes it so enjoyable. No one has any musical talent in our family (No one can read music or play an instrument!)however, that does not matter. The game talks you through everything with a nice and easy tutorial that gives you the basics of a song and what goes into it, such as the bass, the melody, percussion and so on. Once you have learnt these basics you can put them together in jam sessions using yourself for every part of the band! How good is that. You can even decide what style your band is going to play by selecting the instruments to get the right sound. An example of this is to make your songs sound red neck style by using the banjo, uckele and the marching drum. Or form your own string quartet and play some classics. When you have finished your track you can save it as your very own video. There are also the mini games, handbells being the most fun with four of you playing. the other mii's looks when you get a note wrong put you to shame. I'll admit now that I am a FPS fan myself but this game is ideal for the wii and it's unique use of the remotes linked to it's bias towards family games. Imagine this, a french nursery rhyme, sur la pont d'avignon, played by a heavy rock band with a cheerleader as the singer, performed on a balcony, what a laugh!

Call of Duty: World at War (PS3)

Call of Duty: World at War (PS3)

Rated: Suitable for 15 years and over
By Activision

Call of Duty returns, and to many people’s surprise, it’s going back to World War II. While original series creators Infinity Ward brought the series into the modern day, developer Treyarch are setting out to make the definitive historical first-person shooter.
The Soviet attack on Berlin features intense street battles
Take on the Japanese navy as you board a U.S. flying boat
World at War features the most realistic fire effects ever
The new ability to swim adds to both the story and multiplayer modes

The game is primarily set in the Pacific theatre and has a much more realistic, violent tone requiring less-linear game play than previous Call of Duty installments. You'll struggle to survive Japanese attacks without mastering new gaming skills, like swimming or how to use a flamethrower--a weapon that packs some punch in the fully destructable game world.

Also featured is a campaign on the Eastern front, where you take control of a soldier in the Soviet Red Army during the attack on Berlin in the closing stages of the war. The game also includes the series’ first co-op mode, while the competitive multiplayer mode aims to build upon the achievements of Call of Duty 4 and add to the game’s longevity.

Key Features
  • Dual campaigns: Fight in two very different World War II battles. Take on the Japanese Imperial army in the Pacific, and liberate Berlin as part of the Soviet Red Army.
  • Grim realities: Experience the most bloody and realistic combat ever seen in the series, as you witness enemy atrocities and wield horrific new weapons such as the flamethrower.
  • Job with benefits: Revamped competitive multiplayer mode features useable vehicles and an expanded perks system from Call of Duty 4.
  • Brothers in arms: For the first time, a Call of Duty game features a four-player co-operative mode that’s playable online or via a split screen option on the same console.
  • Modern graphics: The game uses an enhanced version of the Call of Duty 4 graphics engine, with wood that splinters realistically when shot and fires that spread organically.
About the Developer: Treyarch
One of publisher Activision’s biggest internal studios, Treyarch have worked on many of the company’s best known titles, from the Spider-Man movie tie-ins and spin-offs to several of the Call of Duty sequels and the new James Bond game, Quantum of Solace.

Taking the COD4 engine works a dream with this game. It does feel familiar, but its still a great game in itself! Really this game is about playing online - at the moment there are bugs, quite annoying ones, so I hope they plan to fix that in a patch.

Good to see the ranks, and other small tweaks made here. Nice to see your stats online and compare to friends too.
