To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated- the result is the Wii Remote. Nintendo fused the global familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device that differentiates the Wii from any other console that has come before it. Revolutionary control Sporting the dimensions of a small traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. The magic of the Wii Remote's design lies within; accelerometers inside the controller body measure movement in all directions and at all speeds. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket as you swing your arm for a long forehand or a quick and hard backhand. In a 4x4 driving game it serves as a steering wheel, allowing you to swerve to avoid obstacles or pickup power-ups. In first-person shooters, the Wii Remote acts as a firearm that you can point directly at an on-screen enemy. The list of potential uses is enormous, and the light weight of the Wii Remote allows gamers to play for hours without feeling fatigued.
The Wii Remote boasts impressive technology for such a compact package. | All Wii Remote buttons are accessible and responsive. View larger. | Control many games from up to 30 feet away. View larger. | The motion sensing technology is neatly tucked away within the Wii Remote body.View larger. | The remote feels comfortable in both right and left hands. View larger. | As comfortable as it is functional The Wii Remote is equally comfortable in right and left hands and houses just the right number of buttons for gaming- not so many that new players will get confused, but enough so that Wii games don't feel constrained. On the face of the remote are the D (or "plus") pad, a large "A" button which is used for major on-screen actions, and two small options buttons. Between the game buttons are a plus and minus buttons (which often act as "forwards" and "back"), as well as a "Home" button to engage the Wii home screen to change settings or check remote battery levels. On the back side of the controller is a trigger-like "B" button, perfect for timing releases of a bowling roll in Wii Sports. Thankfully, battery life is excellent with the two included AA batteries, just as with the previous generation of Nintendo wireless controllers. Immersive intelligence Along the bottom of the Wii Remote, four blue LED lights indicate which player position the remote is currently set to. The controller automatically connects to the Wii console via Bluetooth wireless technology. Below the LEDs, an expansion port lets you connect a number of devices including the Nunchuk and Classic controllers for Virtual Console gaming (Virtual Console games and controller accessories sold separately). Other features of the Wii Remote include adjustable rumble force-feedback and a reinforced wrist strap to ensure safe use. A speaker inside the remote gives the player feedback about the strength of swings or the accuracy of their moves- such as realistic tennis noises as the "racket" connects with the ball in Wii Sports. Overall, the physical design of the remote is extremely sturdy and of very high quality, ensuring countless hours of Wii gaming fun!
It's a remote......., 2008-01-04 Everyone here is complaining! It's an immense remote!
You Point it at the screen and the cursor comes up, it has shake control, tilt control, it's got everything!
Why not buy it!

Best Ever, 2008-11-28 Since having my DS Ive bought lots of games. After playing them once or twice Ive got bored and put them down and never actually finishing the game.Since buying The Prof game Ive yet to put it down. Some of the puzzles are easy and some have driven me to distraction, but needless to say its addictive.I'd like to know how some have finished it in 10 hours. When I thought I had solved a puzzle in a particular room/area/surrounding and then revisit the same place I find another puzzle. ITS BRILLIANT!!!!! I cant wait for the sequel. I would recommend this game to anyone and everyone no matter what age.

- The Wii Nunchuk is a controller that adds even more innovation to the next generation of gaming, and does it all with less physical movement
- It comes with a 3-axis movement detector, an analogue stick and two buttons, and can be used with the Wii remote control
-
needed for some games. Some notes about nunchuks, 2007-10-25 A nunckuk is a simple atachment to the Wii remote that gives you extra control over a game.So far 4 out of 6 of my games need it.If it has a nunchuk icon in the top-right corner of the box it needs it for all or part of the game. You get one free with the console, but you can get another for multiplayer. Here are some notes:
1.The control stick has a special feature:you can move it a little bit and it does the action a little bit, like a steering wheel!
2.The upper button is called "c" and the lower button is called "z" so if you see c and z mentioned in reviews you`ll know what they`re talking about. Don`t get them the wrong way round!
3.It fits in your hand perfectly-no need to worry about it being uncomfortable.
4.Don`t put the control stick in your mouth (if you do it goes all yellow).
5.The cord length is fine(almost the armspan of a quite tall 9-year-old).
So overall the nunchuk wins 5 stars for its special control stick feature; fitting into your hand nicely; and its cord length, and only has 1 bad point which is being just plain white and even this is hardly a "bad" point because you never look at the nunchuk when you`re playing and even this can be fixed by buying a skincase for it.

For use with Nintendo Wii games console. Simply slip your Wii Remote into the Steering wheel and away you go. It has Ergonomic hand grips, a sensor slot, an additional B button and easy release
GO TO HMV! They're £6.99!, 2008-05-31 Just thought I'd let everyone know that I've seen the Wii Wheels in HMV for an amazing 6.99! In fact I was that impressed I bought 2, which funnily enough works out the same price as Nintendo's original RRP.
Obviously if you own Mario Kart then I need not say much more; the Wheel comes boxed in packaging similar to that of the game, is packed well with the typical 'precautions' booklet...
I highly suggest if you're wanting a Wii Wheel that you go to HMV or shop around; paying over a tenner for what it basically is; a plastic wheel, is outrageous.

Simply brilliant, 2008-11-23 Just bought the Wii, as my husband thought it would be fun and we could game together. Well, it is tremendous fun and even better when played together. We bought Wii Play with the Wii mote so we can play tennis and not have to keep handing over the mote during other games. We have only played seriously the bowling and tennis on Wii Sports but our arms are aching already! The graphics are clear and simple, the sound is good (the pattering feet in tennis are hilarious), it was a doddle to set up, the console is tiny and the motes are light and easy to use. It's very intuitive and for hand to eye coordination it is superb. It is certainly much better than sitting with a console in hand, punching buttons. I really like the Mii characters you can create. Make a few and watch them pop up in the background of games.
Recommended highly and that's only for a few games. We have Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, but are saving that for when our arms get stronger. It will be a good way to work off the mince pies at Xmas!

Amazing!, 2008-11-16 This game is really awesome, first played it on the N64 then the gamecube but the Wii version is the best by far especially when playing it with the wheel, only downside with the wheel is its more difficult to make sharp turns but apart from that its absolutly brilliant. Best game i've played in a long time and i could play it for hours! Excellent

Turn your Wii into a musical instrument! Wii Music lets you try your hand at numerous musical instruments - jam with virtual band members, or up to three more of your friends!
It's just a game, don't take it to seriously!, 2008-11-24 I have read the other reviews on here and note the points made but i have got to say are you taking it to seriously? My family have had this game two weeks now and we are still playing it. So, why have i given it five stars? Its the simplicity and ease of the game for everyone that makes it so enjoyable. No one has any musical talent in our family (No one can read music or play an instrument!)however, that does not matter. The game talks you through everything with a nice and easy tutorial that gives you the basics of a song and what goes into it, such as the bass, the melody, percussion and so on. Once you have learnt these basics you can put them together in jam sessions using yourself for every part of the band! How good is that. You can even decide what style your band is going to play by selecting the instruments to get the right sound. An example of this is to make your songs sound red neck style by using the banjo, uckele and the marching drum. Or form your own string quartet and play some classics. When you have finished your track you can save it as your very own video. There are also the mini games, handbells being the most fun with four of you playing. the other mii's looks when you get a note wrong put you to shame. I'll admit now that I am a FPS fan myself but this game is ideal for the wii and it's unique use of the remotes linked to it's bias towards family games. Imagine this, a french nursery rhyme, sur la pont d'avignon, played by a heavy rock band with a cheerleader as the singer, performed on a balcony, what a laugh!

Great!, 2008-10-07 I bought this prior to a family holiday to France. Not having any previous experience of Brain Training, I decided to go for this version rather than the original after reading other reviews, and what a joy it was. I kept the game hidden until we boarded the ferry. When I got it out, I was expecting cries of 'oh no! Not brain training - why did you get that mum??' BUT instead all were delighted, and the whole family, young and old, played it every single day of our trip, and indeed fighted over who's turn it was. I highly recommend this game if you are planning a long journey, or just want to provide your family with some educational entainment that everyone can enjoy that doesnt involve the telly.
