- 130 puzzles
- Touch Screen controls
- New puzzles are available weekly for download via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
- Fully voiced animated scenes
Probably the best game for the DS - definitely the best puzzle game, 2008-11-15 This rather unusually titled game is the first of (at present) a three part series - the follow up games have already been released in Japan to a tremendous reception.
In the game you play as either Professor Layton or his assistant Luke to solve a variety of increasingly fiendish puzzles (130 in total) as well as accumulate various items for your rooms in the hotel, various contraptions that you can build to make a toy (not going to tell you what that is though - find out for yourself!) and also parts of a painting. If you manage to do all these you will be rewarded with extra puzzles (these are really difficult but worth it).
There is a great learning curve with the puzzles and as you progress they get steadily more difficult, although you can get help by using hint coins to buy little snippets of information to guide you in your puzzle solving (only three per puzzle though - after that you are on your own, or you will have to resort to picking up a walkthrough).
The characters and village scenes in St Mystere are weird and wonderful and really add to the atmosphere of the game and the cut scenes are really good, very cartoon like and a great addition to the fun of the game but it is the puzzles themselves which make this game so special.
I love 'point and click' games and the way this game combines this with the puzzles gives you a truly magical experience which you will want to play again and again.
I have to say this is the best game I have played on the DS, and one of the best games I have ever played. Great fun for all ages, excellently designed and an absolute joy to play. If you only buy one game for your DS - make it this one, you will not be dissapointed.

Call of Duty returns, and to many people’s surprise, it’s going back to World War II. While original series creators Infinity Ward brought the series into the modern day, developer Treyarch are setting out to make the definitive historical first-person shooter. The Soviet attack on Berlin features intense street battles | Take on the Japanese navy as you board a U.S. flying boat | World at War features the most realistic fire effects ever | The new ability to swim adds to both the story and multiplayer modes | The game is primarily set in the Pacific theatre and has a much more realistic, violent tone requiring less-linear game play than previous Call of Duty installments. You'll struggle to survive Japanese attacks without mastering new gaming skills, like swimming or how to use a flamethrower--a weapon that packs some punch in the fully destructable game world. Also featured is a campaign on the Eastern front, where you take control of a soldier in the Soviet Red Army during the attack on Berlin in the closing stages of the war. The game also includes the series’ first co-op mode, while the competitive multiplayer mode aims to build upon the achievements of Call of Duty 4 and add to the game’s longevity. Key Features - Dual campaigns: Fight in two very different World War II battles. Take on the Japanese Imperial army in the Pacific, and liberate Berlin as part of the Soviet Red Army.
- Grim realities: Experience the most bloody and realistic combat ever seen in the series, as you witness enemy atrocities and wield horrific new weapons such as the flamethrower.
- Job with benefits: Revamped competitive multiplayer mode features useable vehicles and an expanded perks system from Call of Duty 4.
- Brothers in arms: For the first time, a Call of Duty game features a four-player co-operative mode that’s playable online or via a split screen option on the same console.
- Modern graphics: The game uses an enhanced version of the Call of Duty 4 graphics engine, with wood that splinters realistically when shot and fires that spread organically.
About the Developer: Treyarch One of publisher Activision’s biggest internal studios, Treyarch have worked on many of the company’s best known titles, from the Spider-Man movie tie-ins and spin-offs to several of the Call of Duty sequels and the new James Bond game, Quantum of Solace.
Good Continuniation of the series, 2008-11-18 Great fun. Especially like the flame thrower and manual use of mortar shells. Wanted to get from Amazon but out of stock so went to Carphone Warehouse and they have it for 34.99!

Step onto the pitch and play professional football your way in FIFA 09. Experience the most authentic football simulation EA Sports has delivered as you live the fantasy of playing as a professional player and customise the game to suit your style and ability. Powered by the third generation of the EA Sports football engine, FIFA 09 features more than 250 core gameplay additions and enhancements that deliver the most responsive, intelligent and realistic action ever for the series. Enjoy turning defenders with more controlled dribbling and ball control, snapping off precision shots with improved first-time shooting mechanics and firing beautifully timed passes with greater accuracy, placing the ball exactly where you want it. With new player momentum physics the speed and weight of the player determines everything from the distance of a slide tackle and the power of a header to the severity of player collisions and the height of a player's jump. Plus, players now behave according to their physical attributes with larger, stronger players dominating collisions, battles for control of the ball, and position in challenges for two player headers.
Best football game ever!, 2008-11-16 After purchasing this game, I was very pleased as it is the best Fifa game to date. The graphics are brilliant and game play to match. I would definitely recommend any football and PS3 fan this game. It seems like every detail has been accounted for, from the wonderful detail and likeness to the real players, to the brand names on the back of the net. I would give this game 10/10, it really is brilliant!

Dr Kawashima's Brain Training for Nintendo DS is a fun, rewarding form of entertainment everyone can enjoy, as it helps players flex their mental muscles
Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How old is your brain?, 2008-08-19 I have just recently bought a Nintendo lite, and this is one of the first games I played, and I can honestly say , it is really good fun, despite the fact that I scored an 80 year old brain on my first attempt (I am only 37!!)
I have never been a big maths fan, but this IS fun, let all your friends try it too. Very engaging, highly recommended.

Carve out a virtual life for yourself as hero or villain in the fantasy world of Fable II, where nothing is pre-determined. Create your own character, male or female, and control them over their whole lifetime. Watch as they grow up and then make the tough moral choices that will affect their abilities and how the world sees them. Some cities are huge, with a complex infrastructure for you to exploit | Acting for good or evil can have a permanent physical effect on your features | Guns are commonplace, but swordfighting is still vitally important | Not all your enemies are human in the world of Fable | Set in the land of Albion 500 years after the first game (such that primitive guns are now in widespread use), you can either seek to rid the land of evil or conquer the realm for yourself. The game features an all new combat system, allowing you to use a range of melee and ranged weapons, while death brings only a loss of experience. But the game need not be about fighting at all if you don’t want it to be. You can buy property and become a mayor, or get married and have children. Many games call themselves role-players, but here the nature of your role is entirely up to you. Key Features - Game of life: Mould your own character and watch them grow into adulthood, their features changing according to the deeds they perform for good or evil.
- Virtual reality: Will you be a charming evil doer or an antisocial hero? The role you play is entirely up to you as you follow the game’s story or ignore it to do your own thing.
- New age of combat: Wield a huge range of weapons, including swords, axes, and newly available muskets. Or master a range of magic spells with up to 80 different varieties available.
- Team up: Invite a friend into your game at any time and play with them in co-operative mode.
- Best friend: Every character gets a chance to own a pet dog, one who will help you to find your way through the game world, attack enemies, or just be a good friend.
About the Developer: Lionhead Studios Headed by industry veteran Peter Molyneux, creator of the famous Populous and Theme Park, Lionhead are one of the UK’s best known developers. They were bought by Microsoft in 2006 and now produce games such as Black & White, The Movies, and Fable only on Xbox 360 and PC.
Fable 2 a darn good play!, 2008-11-18 I feel fable 2 is a very good game it combines good grapics with a good (hmm ok slightly predictible storyline)sense of fantasy realism that leaves the player i feel happy and satisfied. True it took me three days to complete it (fast going for me)but I feel I good go back and do it all over again. It is a good game that once you have got it you can go back o it again and agian because I feel it is good for the price and good for killing some fun spent hours playing it doing things diffrently on time then another way the next.

Great value for money, 2008-08-14 This cable is great, it may not be the most expensive on the market and it may not have the designer name that some of the other cables have, but I have to be honest I really couldn't tell the difference! I know you see all the stats and the product description tells you how much better the 50 pound cable will be but to the naked I it will make such little difference its unbelievable. If you have a reasonable HDTV you shouldn't have any worry at all. If you don't which incidentally I dont (I have a 350 pound Hanspree 37") you probably wont notice the difference anyway. In my house we have my CHEAP TV with my CHEAP cable and my dad has a 2000 pound SONY with a very expensive cable. We played alongside each other a couple of times to see the difference in the quality. Now when you put them next to each other there was a difference, it wasn't huge but the was a difference. BUT....how often will you have your cheap cable next to an expensive one???You probably never will, so with this in mind I would say that this cable is just as good as any of the very expensive designer cables on the market. If you want an HD cable for your ps3 and you dont want to spend loads of money, this really is the cable for you. You will enjoy your gaming just as much, you will still think your game looks stunning and you will never look back! My review in short says BUY THIS CABLE, dont waste your time or your hard earned cash on the other over talked, over hyped cables!!

For use with Nintendo Wii games console. Simply slip your Wii Remote into the Steering wheel and away you go. It has Ergonomic hand grips, a sensor slot, an additional B button and easy release
GO TO HMV! They're £6.99!, 2008-05-31 Just thought I'd let everyone know that I've seen the Wii Wheels in HMV for an amazing 6.99! In fact I was that impressed I bought 2, which funnily enough works out the same price as Nintendo's original RRP.
Obviously if you own Mario Kart then I need not say much more; the Wheel comes boxed in packaging similar to that of the game, is packed well with the typical 'precautions' booklet...
I highly suggest if you're wanting a Wii Wheel that you go to HMV or shop around; paying over a tenner for what it basically is; a plastic wheel, is outrageous.

Look around for the best Offer!, 2008-11-19 To all you would be owners - think very carefully before you purchase, do your homework and look around.
the only way to to get this product is to buy it with a console, if bought with the console on Amazon it will only cost you an extra £20, however purchased seperately it could make a huge hole in your xmas pocket for up to a whopping £103 (ouch).
The offer itself is good, so if your looking to buy a 360 it's well worth taking advantage of, alternatively you can check out other outlets such as Gamestation who offer basically the same package with a slight increase of a fiver.
we're all a little hard up for cash this year, so a little goes a long way. your the customer, it's your hard earned cash... see what else they are willing to throw in the deal, flash the cash, be nice, and make it clear you want to spend your money in their shop with the right deal... don't be ok with the deal you walk away with... "Be over the moon".
happy shopping folks. (and don't forget to read the small print).

The Locust Horde is back and only you and your squad of elite soldiers stand between them and the death of every human being on the planet Sera. In Gears of War 2, entire cities are being destroyed in single attacks, and you must take the fight to the Locusts by battling them in their own underground lairs. You can play the whole of story mode with a friend | The Boomer enemies are back in many different varieties | The game’s ethos of “destroyed beauty” is still in full effect | Shoot the Ticker enemies before they explode in your face | The bestselling third-person shooter is back: bigger, better, and gorier than ever before. But you can't just blast your way through it--this game requires far more tactics and cunning than your usual mindless shooter. A refined cover system means you can use the enemy as “meat shields” as well as hide behind the fully destructible scenery. The graphics are looking better than ever, and the game is purposefully more bloody and violent than before. The story and characterisation has also been improved, making this an action game sequel with brains as well as brawn. Key Features - Brothers in arms: Have a friend join or leave your single player game whenever you want, and even battle together on different difficultly levels.
- Evolving enemies: You finally get a chance to take down the giant Brumak enemies, as well as even larger monsters and new creatures, such as the explosive Ticker.
- Practise makes perfect: Practice the multiplayer mode on your own with computer controlled “bots”--then use the new matchmaking system to find a real opponent of the same skill level.
- Chainsaw massacre: If you loved the chainsaw bayonet in the original game, you now can duel computer or human opponents with gaming’s messiest weapon attachment.
- Hordes of options: Try the new five-player Horde mode, where you all face off against an unending wave of enemies, or any of the seven other multiplayer modes.
About the Developer: Epic Games Based in North Carolina, Epic is well known for games such as Unreal Tournament and Gears of War. They also make the Unreal Engine graphics technology, which is used by many other companies in many different games.
Great game, great purchase, 2008-11-17 Very fun game, campaign is brilliant, the Horde battle game type is great and multi-player is very good.
Campaign is excellent, there are few flaws I've found, the only one I've found which caused me to stop for a while was a Locust who had managed to get under the floor.
Multi-player. This definitely has it's flaws, but these WILL be fixed. First of all, the gameplay is fantastic. I've had many good games with my friends, the satisfaction of getting headshots, watching people get blown to little pieces of flesh by your proximity mine really is spectacular. Meanwhile, there ARE connection issues. Matchmaking can often take a long time to connect, disconnections are common throughout playing and these really 'grinds my gears'.
Also if you've played Gears of War 1 you might be surprised to see the power of the Gnasher (Shotgun) reduced by quite a bit, which I found to be a bit of a disappointment, and lancers are a lot more effective. There is also the problem of the chainsaw attachments for the lancer, the way the chainsaw doesn't seem to 'knock down', and people can just run at you with chainsaws.
Campaign - 5/5, Very good overall, co-op is also fantastic
Multiplayer - 4/5 Great gameplay but not without it's flaws, connection issues
Overall 4/5, I'd definitely reccomend this game, it is superb, just try not to get frustrated over the connection issues!
