Simply amazing!, 2008-10-12 The picooz is the most fun i've had in ages. I bought it knowing it was good and it is. Its great value for money and when they say its durable they mean it. It only takes a few flights to learn what your doing. However read the instrutions and make sure to trim. If youre going to buy it for a kid make sure there mature enough. The design is great it has a built in LED (light) so you can have night flights. If yout going to fly it outdoors make sure there is no wind or direct sun. A brilliant buy reccomended!!!

Vivid Imaginations
Take home your very own Roary racing car! Remote controlled Roary comes with a steering wheel control so you can steer Roary forwards, backwards, left or right! The remote is chunky and easy for little hands to use. With sound and phrases. A fun first remote controlled car that allows your child to control the play - great for the next Schumacher in training! Bright colours and human like "face" make him appear friendly.
Light 'em up, Roary!!!, 2008-02-28 My son and I have had great fun with this toy over the past couple of months, and still do -- best Christmas present I ever bought!
It is speedy, tough, and faithful to the TV character. Admittedly traction is better on carpet than laminate, but I found it very easy to control, and had no problems with the turning circle. No, it won't turn on a dime, so you do have to practice some 3-point turns, but well, there's your educational element: spacial awareness, hand/eye co-ordination, etc. - good practice for when the kids are 17!
If responsiveness, or range of remote IR signal decreases, just replace the batteries in the car (not necessarily the remote), and all should be well again. I've also found that sunlight can interfere with the remote IR signal when the car travels into direct sunlight at a distance - just move closer to it.
All in all, a superb toy. If I had had one as a kid, I would have been well chuffed. I just wish they would bring out another remote control character, e.g. Maxi, so you could have races!

- Flight times upt to 10 minutes
- 2 x Helicopters with controllers
- Machine gun noise as you fire at your opponent
- Flight range of 30ft
    this is a winner, 2007-12-07
I was a little sceptical about how much fun this would be and whether these coptors really fly. No worries. They are amazing and even my wife's raised eyebrows quickly turned to a smile. My 2 girls think they are 'cool' Even the 8 year old could fly one within a few minutes.
The flying time is as short it suggests but still enough time to enjoy it. It says don't use rechargeable batteries but I seem to remember another website saying that you can safely ignore these warnings.
It will be interesting to see how durable these coptors are - you get spare rear blades. I haven't had long enough to know.
If you aren't convinced whether this is worth the money check out the video that is on manufacturer's website.
Could be the toy of the year

Big Boys Toy, 2008-08-26 I bought this as a birthday present for my husband and have had great fun watching him trying to master the art of flying!! We've both been amazed at how the helicopter has stood up to the number of crash landings and bouncing off walls and ceilings. Now he's getting the hang of flying it's been quite interesting to see how the helicopter works and responds to the controls, such as hovering for instance.
Highly recommended; in fact, it looks like his work mates are starting to drop hints to partners ready for Christmas.....

Huge fun, but slightly erratic, 2008-09-04 Technically very clever, this is an evolution of the tiny Picoo Z 2-channel machine that has taken the world by storm.
What they have added to this is a 'Forward' button that gives a surge of forwards movement to the otherwise very slowly moving helicopter.
But....
This surge forward comes after a slight but unpredictable delay, and the yaw control (left/right steering) on this machine is less good than on the Picoo Z.
So you might have this little machine hovering, and want to buzz it across the room, but it is twisting to the right, OK?
If you try to stop it twisting the sticky yaw control can set it spinning left, and the trim is not a lot of help in this - unlike the older Picoo Z. If you take pot luck and wait until it lines up on your destination, the forward button may delay enough until it aims you at the wall!
So it can be a bit of a lottery, but still great fun.
Fortunately it seems just as tough as the Picoo Z.
The tiny actuator mechanism for the 'Forward' control is jewel like and a very neat bit of model engineering, significant educational value, as always - but the way the whole machine flies is not so good in the ways described. Pity.
Oh, and it has a remote controlled light on it. Might add fun to the arrival of the Xmas pud? Just don't get too near the flames!
Still recommended, but for fun rather than precision flying.

Damaged your Silverlit Picco Z helicopter with a tricky maneuver?.
These are the replacement parts you need to get flying again. This genuine Silverlit Picco Z helicopter triple rotor set contains the genuine blades to get retired helicopters flying again.
How many, 2007-12-26 Surely it isn't £3 for one? How many rotors are there in this pack? Is it 3?

Experience the lunar phases and learn about the moon with the Moon In My Room display.
By the light of the Moon, 2008-06-06 Bought this for my 7/8 year old who is mad about space and astronomy, we all think it's absolutely magical. It's very realistic, gives off just the right amount of light and is suitable to play with or just to leave on to go to sleep to. I can think of a few other kids who will be getting these for presents. Just GREAT!

It's freaky, it's weird, it flies! The Insecta is more than just a remote control flier, it's a chopper crossed with an insect! This incredible hybrid flier has the technical capabilities of a PicooZ helicopter and the bug like exterior of a weird insect.
Nice little flier, and great value, 2008-06-28 Got this because my PicooZ had long since died, and even though I've graduate since to a 4-channel co-axial, I missed the little guy. So, got this as a replacement, as I fancied something a little different looking.
As noted by another reviewer, you get no choice in which of the three infrared channels you will receive, which could cause problems if you want to use more than one at a time (is anyone at Amazon listening? Could we have a choice of the A,B or C versions, please?).
It flies great, better than my old PicooZ, but whether this is due to a better design, or simply that my original one got a bit mangled as I learnt, I have no idea: Maybe I had better buy a heli-style one as well, just for comparison purposes, of course (ahem!).
Comes with a spare tail rotor, which is very useful, and small weights, which can be applied to the nose, to increase forward speed (with 2-channel, there is no forward-reverse; only up-down and left-right spin).
Given how cheap these have now become, get one to play with if you've not bothered up until now: They will fly in a very small space, and will not damage anything you may hit. Outside is a no-no though, even a small breeze from an open window will put them off-course.
