not much different to 2003, 2008-10-16 I just installed this on my desktop and laptop and not found it not too different to outlook 2003. Can't really see major changes but as all msn office product goes, it is still fairly easy to use.

Never had so much fun with a game ever, 2008-05-07 This genre is right up my street something I love highly its got steampunk+cyberpunk+gangstas! It has humour, mutants what more could you ask for!
yes it is a little old but its a classic World of Warcraft and other online games should take note of these two little gems!
Lets hope Stargate Worlds and the Fallout 3 are worthy of being sat besides these classics.

Every PC should have this software!, 2008-11-01 I recently had a hard drive problem and although all my data was backed up I still spent hours (days!) reinstalling software and all the updates etc. I therefore did not wish to make the same mistake again and started looking for software that would back up my complete system (including all system files etc). The smart scheduler ensures that all my backs ups are automated and therefore this product simply runs in the background. Now that I have such a reliable product "Murphy's Law" will probably ensure that I have no more hard drive failures etc. However it is very comforting to know that should the unthinkable ever happen again at least I will not have to re-install all my software and the associated updates.
I downloaded trial packages for some of the major names like Norton Ghost. They either failed or were not partularly user friendly. True Image Home 2009 is stable and reliable. It imaged my main drive (500 Gb) in minutes, and I really tested the program thoroughly .. All worked! As this is a new product there are very few reviews - other than from PC mags etc. However I did check the Amazon reviews for the previous versions (Acronis True Image 11 and previous releases). Previous glitches surrounding Vista appear to have been rectified - see some of the less flattering reviews from previous editions of this product). As there are so many types of hardware and software it is recommended that you take advantage of the 15 day day free trial first.
I downloaded a 15 day trial from the Acronis web site and have had EXCELLENT results with it.
Rather than purchase on-line from Acronis I purchased a discounted package from Amazon. Apart from saving some money this also provided me with a bootable CD and a handy quick start guide. (Full guide available from the Acronis website).
If you are looking for backup software, my recommendation would be to try the 15 day trial version and assuming that you like the product as much as I have then purchase the full product from Amazon.
Worth every penny. You will not be disappointed.
The only downside is that the trail version must be uninstalled before the full version can be installed. Why does Acronis not simply allo us to unlock the trial version by inputting the serial number of the full version?
Edit (Added Later): I have since had cause to contact Customer Services at Acronis. My query was dealt with quickly and effectively and resolved the issue. I would also rate their customer service as 5 stars. (Some of the serial numbers issued in boxed versions (such as through Amazon) can cause the software to stop working/not be valid when you try to upgarde to full commercial version. Acronis have put in place a program for you to replace the erroneous codes with valid, commercial codes. The process is quick and simple).

UPG UPG NORTON ANTIVIRUS 2009 1 USER 3 PC EN
hats off, at last!!, 2008-09-22 after an unsatisfactory trial with Kaspersky I decided on a simple antivirus, this is good, very good, its quiet, the pc runs quickly and smoothly and it even monitors my wireless network. Happy to buy this. Worth a serious look if you don't need a full suite. Well done it's taken a few years mind you but I think they have cracked it at Symantec! Ill be watching very closely if the virus and spyware is better, 2008 suite installed on my new laptop missed a trojan here and there so well see if this is better, but certainly from a running point of view it's spot on!

Norton from Symantec
Does everything it claims (with no hassle!), 2008-10-22 It was with some trepidation that I installed this onto our PC: we have experienced problems such as chronic slowdown and various conflicts the last time we had a Norton suite (mind you that was a few years since and our current PC has a lot higher spec). Anyway after removing all the previous protective software (AVG etc which incidentally we were very happy with) we bunged the CD in and held our breath...
I'm pleased to say it loaded without a hitch and required the absolute minimum of input from me with regard to preferences and permissions. I won't go into all the programme's features as they have been well covered by others but I will add that the interface is clean and easy to follow and the best bit is that it all operates quietly and unobtrusively in the background (and I have noticed no particular slowdown as it goes about its business - not that I'm aware of that anyway). It has remained perfectly stable since its installation several weeks ago and I suspect that it will continue to remain so.
Along with the package you also get a gig or two of online backup storage with the facility for more if you pay for it. I wouldn't normally bother with this feature but uploaded some stuff just to see how straightforward it was and, again, it was a painless process.
The negatives? Not many - the rather garish logo that attaches itself onto your browser was a bit of a surprise (although I don't notice it now) and the packaging seems a bit excessive for what amounts to a CD but, as a complete all-in-one solution for your internet PC security I would thoroughly recommend it (even if, like us, you've had problems with Norton in the past).

Norton from Symantec
Slimmer of the year?, 2008-11-10 They claim to have done away with years of bloat and seem to be right. I've avoided Norton for several years now but am delighted with the 2009 version. It is light on use of system resources and runs quickly and efficiently where it used to be sluggish and slow my system right down. With 2009, my boot time hardly increased after installation; it is much faster than with ZoneAlarm Security Suite. RAM use seems to be down to less than 30MB. Scans only run when the machine is idle - excellent.
As well as the usual AV and Firewall modules, etc, you get a browser plug-in for IE and FF to detect phishing sites and similar nasties. You also get an "identity safe" for protection against key-loggers - this enables you to send your details over the web without typing them every time.
Negatives? Well, the price is on the high side. And the interface is perhaps a little busy, but it's perfectly usable and functional.
Overall, I'm really glad I switched, and will very likely stick with Norton unless it starts putting on weight again.
