I like keeping track of how many steps I take in a day, and this is a perfect way to do it. It costs more than other pedometers but is in a class by itself. You can put it in your pocket and forget it, unlike belt mounted pedometers. It is unbelievably accurate -- I tested it many times and found it dead on. It has a filter so that you don't count steps when you are sitting down, and this works really well. (Such filters are quite rare, although good quality pedometers do have them).

It is also very very small. With all the gadgets I carry this is a big plus.

I've used one of these all summer for camping trips. Previously I used a standard torch with rechargeable AA batteries but these can have a habit of dying just when they're needed and it's expensive to keep buying fresh sets.

This torch is just the job. It provides sufficient illumination for in a tent, walking around a camp site in pitch black and has been very useful at home during power cuts. It's lightweight, reliable and dependable and I know it's there when it's needed so I won't be reverting back to conventional battery-powered torches.

I haven't timed how long it takes to wind but I've definitely had 30 minutes continuous use from it.

I've bought two more - one for the car, one for use at home and would recommend them to anyone looking for a torch for casual use which does what it says whenever it's needed.

Amazing torch, 2008-01-15
My brother was given this torch for xmas and showed me the other day, and I was very impressed. It gives a very good bright light, and looks
very interesing and rather stylish, even more so as the body is transparent and the mechanism is visible inside(good for scienctific explanations, Mums and Dads,Uncles and Aunties etc.).
Be aware that the whole body of the torch lights up as well, which is also very stylish, but maybe not good for clandestine night work.
And the price, well, about the same as a good four-pack!

The 160W heater is poor to good, does give out fair heat but wont replace your car heater but may in time de-mist your windscreen. Better than the 200Watt heaters.

I have used both Gerber and Leatherman multi-tools. And i have to say that the Suspension is a hoofing multi-tool. For years i would buy Leathermans, but now it is only Gerbers. It is small and light yet has all the tools you need.
I found that after a year or two my Leatherman would brake or would become flimsy. With my gerber Suspension thow it is still sterdy, solid and in one piece, after two years.

I came across during browsing the idea to decorate my garden with solar leds for the holidays. I have only one outdoor socket in the garden so it would be very difficult and messy to decorate every tree and bush with the usual lights. With the solar lights there is no mess, the decoration is very easy and they are very safe for outdoor use. The lights are beautiful white leds from which is generated a trully magical light for many hours... If you live in a country with a lot of sunshine even during the winter - I live in Greece- don't miss them!
