Fred the Shred!, 2010-03-10 Well I must admit I was sceptical to say the least. Liked the idea, seen the reviews but still not sure in practice how efficient this would be, it's not something many people have, so they're isn't really a good opportunity to see one in action. Plus who knows if 2200 Watt is enough power, I havn't the foggiest!!! First it's "simples" to assemble and in 5min you're ready to shred! My garden's a mess so thought, well if I have the right tools, I don't mind doing it myself. Plug it in, starts up quickly and is spinning at it's full rev's in about 1/2 second, there's no wait time. Well I chucked everything at it, and believe me this thing chopped ever branch, bunch of leaves into tinny chipped pieces, it was amazing. You might think that with the bigger chunks it would slow down and I guess with time when the blade bluntens a bit, it might, but for now it's didn't even seem to bat an eyelid and I was putting some pretty hefty branches down there. The red plastic tool for shoving down those last bits is essential and works a treat. The best part of this, is I was able to clear a whole section of my garden and didn't feel I have done anything, in terms of effort. It makes a huge difference having one of these and is quick!!! No faffing around with small clippers and bagging it all. Plus the other thing I remember was that the garden bags don't tear, which used to be a real pain, when shoving in those branches, but when it's all chipped into small pieces, you just don't get that. Also some advise, I don't think you need the optional bag underneath to catch the pieces, I have plastic garden sacks with the handles and they are just the right size to wrap over the handles on the side and sit beneath the shredder, plus then you don't have to empty the sack, just remove and tie it up. All in all I can't recommend this enough. Also people talk about noise. I don't know what they're on about, it's hardly noisy, I mean you're doing gardening, you're neighbours will probably be pleased you're sorting
out the mess, and is alot quieter that an lawnmower.

Procter Bros Ltd
Excellent and humane, 2010-02-28 The first night I placed the trap by the wall as directed but didn't catch anything, the second night I placed it where I had last seen the mouse running across the room and in the morning the mouse was in the trap. I used a chocolate biscuit as the bait.
Because the trap is roomy with lots of air holes the mouse did not appear to be distressed in any way, unlike the plastic tube traps I have used before where they emerge very sweaty so I am very pleased with it.

Gift Republic
- 1 packet of basil seeds
- 1 packet of parsley seeds
- 1 packet of thyme seeds
- 1 packet of chive seeds
- 1 packet of rosemary seeds
Really Clever!, 2010-02-15 I bought the herbs and the tea and coffee and the fruit selection, I planted the herbs a week ago and my rosemary, chive and parsley are growing rapidly already! I read the comments about the compost but my compost was fin, i put the pot with the compost in it in a bowl and just poured water over the compost until after a few goes compost almost magically appeared! I was quite amazed! but it didnt work like that for my fruit selection, I need to crumble that up so I'm guessing it's hit or miss. They would make a great gift, I'm growing mine in the windowsill of my flat! so they work anywhere! would definitely recomend!

Golden Glow, 2010-03-08 We've had two of these... (had to get a replacement when the first one got dropped - oops!) and I agree with what some others have said about consistency.
Our first one was ok. We liked it but it needed some serious sunshine to get it going, and in the middle of winter that was a bit hard to come by, so sometimes it took a couple of days to charge properly. But once it was charged it was lovely and gave off a beautiful golden glow, which gradually faded after a couple of hours, so perfect for my son to go to bed with it on in his room, and by the time we were ready for bed ourselves it had gone out.
The second one though - wow! Sitting on a windowsill even on a dull day is enough to charge it up to last for... well, I don't know how long because I turn it off when we go to bed! Certainly longer than 3 hours and it's still going strong.
What I would do is to give it a go, and if the one you get seems to be one of the not-so-good ones then send it back and ask for a replacement. The good ones are excellent and well worth it, so maybe if they get enough returned then they might work on consistency!
Structurally they are very sturdy (as long as you don't drop them on a brick floor - they ARE glass!) and very attractive. When fully charged it really looks like you have trapped sunshine inside it! My son (aged 6) thinks it's fabulous!

Karcher (First Order Account)
Does what it says on the tin, 2009-11-07 As I only have a small Karcher pressure washer (85 bar) and having seen a few bad reviews, I wondered how effective this would be. I am very impressed with the results for general surface cleaning and my wife is equally impressed with how clean the process is (after previously using only the lance).
Obviously for heavy algea or stains, the lance is superior and sometimes essential, but 99% of the area (including a section not previously done with the lance) was well and quickly cleaned.
