I've used this gadget to make a few briquettes, and I'm pleased. They are currently drying next to my wood burner, so i can't yet comment on their potential as fuel. A few plus points; (1) decent sized, solid, chunky briquettes from unremarkable amounts of paper - it's not like the paper disappears to nothing and you end up with a rubic's cube's-worth. A newspaper goes a long way! (2) soaking the paper doesn't have to be too arduous, paper was ready for squashing overnight with a bit of bleach to help it along.
On the other hand, if you don't have an industrial sized shredder, be prepared for the fact that ripping the paper up takes a while. I found that soaking the paper first, then ripping, then putting into a bucket with bleach was easier on my wrists. Of course, if you're buying this gadget you are probably braced for a bit of effort in your recycling. It's certainly more fun than filling the council's black bin.

We saw a similar product on holiday in Turkey, so I sought out these Philips LED Rechargeable Candle Lights on my return last year and shall be buying them for others as Christmas gifts this year.

They look so pretty when "lit". You literally just turn them upside down to turn on or off. Great idea if you like candles but have children around.

This is really cool. It would make a great gift for anyone especially the eco-conscious. It looks unusual, is a talking point for guests and it saves on electricity. I might get a few more and make a feature of them. You can even use them outside as they are waterproof.

I bought one of these for my wife along with an MP3 player for her birthday. Within a couple of days my son had tried it out, and pinched it. I've now bought two more to make sure that the same thing doesn't happen again.

In the short time that my wife had her pillow, the best use she found was to listen to a recording I made for her from OneWorld in DAB Radio of the birds twittering and sounds of the countryside. Very relaxing whilst nodding off, as long you MP3 player has a sleep function.

Yes I would agree with the previous comment, luckily we purchased everything from Characters 4 Kids, they don't charge postage to the whole of the UK so this was great. We bought the duvet, curtains, lamp, bin and the light shade from them on Amazon and didn't pay a penny on postage. All came well packed and in one package.
