Am completely in love with my iPod!

I listen to a lot of audiobooks and the 120gb memory means I can store loads of them and all my music. It looks beautiful and is so easy to use.

Only problem is that the earphones are rubbish. I got another pair for about £7 which are ideal.

All my friends have Ipods so I thought i would get one. Couldnt afford a Ipod nano saw the Ipod shuffle on offer and thought i would give one ago.
Its very easy to use, holds plenty of songs, is easy to download songs onto and you can take songs off and add songs on easily. An ideal modern walkman!

Received my EP-630 this morning with baited breath, opened the pack attached it to my Ipod Nano, was I overjoyed or should I say ecstatic or what. Imagine seating in a huge log house listening to Bang and Olufsen, both for free,that is what the price and quality of this earphones brought to mind. My first pair were Sennheiser's, which cost me a mortgage, best treble overkill I have ever experienced.

As a 77 year old surfer who has been through the whole gamut of electric and electronic audio devices, starting off with the old wind-up gramaphone! - modern technology absolutely amazes me! - This is my first advent into these miniature devices, and in my opinion it is worth all the praise in the earlier reviews. Simple me managed to get it connected, transfer all my old (1950s) music from my computer, copy my photo albums, and set up the FM radio with 20 preset stations within a couple of hours of receiving it, that shows how easy it is - Oh yes, it's very hard to believe that such a rich perfectly clear sound can come from such a small delicate looking source.My only slight observation is that for something so small and polished I would have thought a nice cover could be provided. However it is definitely five and a half stars from me.

After lots of consideration I decided to replace my old creative zen with this ipod touch. The decision was hard because reviews seemed mixed. Competitor's products come with FM radio and inbuilt microphone - I used both on my Creative Zen but they are extras for the itouch. So why did I go for the ipod touch in the end? I think it was partly the volume of sales - they are one of the best marketed products out there but this means that other companies are falling over themselves to sell things that complement the ipod. From little speaker sets to car stereos the options are endless for an ipod but far fewer for anything else. In a way this made me a reluctant convert...until I actually bought one.
This was one gamble that paid off. The user interface and the attention to detail are superb. I was cautious about the restrictions on customisation that I expected. There are some - you have to use the official Applications Store but the range of add-ons is quite big and I could find most of what I was looking for - some invaluable, others frivolous but fun. Sound quality is fine although I haven't tried the headphones provided my JVC ones sound good and the sound through my car stereo is good too. I can check my emails without having to start up the computer and I was surprised to be able to view attached word documents. Youtube is very slick and the Safari web browser works well.
My only criticisms are that I would like a better calender (although I bought the ipod for the music primarily), and itunes which I hate.

It's a real shame Apple have let themselves and their customers down with the accessories issue (90% of pre-June 2008 accessories, particularly chargers don't work with new Touch and Nano models).

Still, as an item of design and functionality there can be no debate that Apple have created the best iPod Nano yet. Everything works smoother than on the previous model and the larger screen really does make a difference.

It's also a lot lighter than it's predecessor and includes a marginally longer battery life. Bear in mind however that only a USB charger is included, not a power lead... read paragraph one again if you're not sure how much of an issue this is (it's another £30 for an official dock).

BUT like I say this is a lovely piece of kit that especially rewards those with a well kept iTunes library with coverflow once again looking fantastic.

I dont like Apple products generally, but the new Ipod Touch is the coolest and most functional item I have ever bought. It really has that "wow!" factor and does everything you would want from an MP3 and then loads more. Plus you can easily, finally, load mp3s from your computer to the IPOD. You can surf the internet easily and comfortably - no more fiddling about this makes surfing on a small device practical and simple. Viewing youtube is also a big boost and it looks great. Same comments go for the email, photo viewer, map etc. etc... It is just one superbly designed piece of equipment that seems to know exactly what the customer wants. It is a little expensive but I paid 229 euros for the 8GB and that was from europe and I must say it is worth it. Hats off to Apple.

Truly A Wonderful Little Gadget, 2008-09-16
I already have an iPod Nano 3rd generation, and I said to myself I wasn't going to purchase a new one this year. However I couldn't help myself when I visited the Apple Store and was completely won over by this little beauty. I was drawn to the purple one this time round (my previous ones being blue), and I just had to have one! It really is a fantastic gadget - design and function wise. You can't help but look at it in amazement. I can't fault it apart from the fact the battery doesn't seem to last as long as the 3rd gen and there's still the same old problem of missing artwork on cover flow. However the new functions and voice recorder capabilities (you will need to buy Apple's upgrade earphones with mic to use that function), make up for this (yay!) Also, it seems a lot lighter than the 3rd generation.

I can see the other reviews are complaining that the Nano 4th gen is not compatable with previous iPod accessories, in particular an fm transmitter to play it in your car. A couple of months ago I bought a Griffin ITrip Autopilot from Amazon for my 3rd Gen Nano. Well it works perfectly with my 4th gen too!, so I totally recommend it.

Great piece of kit, 2008-10-29
I bought this for my daughter for christmas and my first impressions are that this is one very impresive piece of kit. It feels very well built considering the thiness and size ,this is the first ipod in the family it is a replacement for an old fashion mp3 player. Using the itunes download tool makes buying and loading the ipod easy , you'll be an expert within minutes ! ! The picture quality of the screen is totally amazing again considering the size and thickess. The instructions supplied in the packaging are a bit basic , but a complete set of instructions can be downloaded from the ipod web site. I really can't think of any negitives only lots of +points.
