My Logitech Extrusio speakers finally died after seven years of service, and being currently very cash constrained I couldn't go past £25 for new speakers. I decided to take a chance on these rather than a Labtec set costing £5 more mainly because these have nearly twice the max RMS output (40W rather than 25W), are nearly twice as heavy, so I assumed the bass would be significantly better. On receipt, my first impression was how small the bass unit was, and I knew that it couldn't possibly reach very low frequencies (you need physical space for that). At least it had a bit of weight which is necessary to transmit the bass outwards.

After a great deal of plugging in cables, I was first very disappointed by the bass - even with the dial at max, there was nothing and it sounded like £5 tinny crap speakers. Mystified, I unplugged the satellites and maxed the volume and yes, plenty of bass - so the unit IS capable of lots of bass without distortion, it's just the satellites are WAY overpowered. I tried altering the equaliser, but the crossover circuitry is very cheap and it distorted the satellites so no go there.

Luckily, my Realtek HD onboard audio has separate volume controls for front, back, subwoofer and centre if you enable them in Properties in the mixer control panel. I put front, rear and centre down to nearly zero and lo & behold, the bass was born!!! Make sure you put it on the floor though, it's just too light and small for a desk - and you're not talking deep bass, but it does 100Hz very well - my floor and chair do shake slightly so you do feel the music. Without that the sound has zero depth at all.

I have the top end most expensive Logitech downstairs for the home cinema with optical digital connection, so I know my computer speakers. Like all cheap speakers, the satellites have no dynamic range with volume so the music sounds "flat". However, at low volumes, they're not at all bad, and of course having five rather than two cheap speakers means you can run them at less than half volume and thus get a much more dynamic sound out of them. That said, they're no top-end Logitech speakers and the sound will never sound particularly natural eg; classical sounds horrendous. However, action movies and dance music are absolutely fine, and the surround is impressive for speakers so cheap - I certainly forgot I wasn't downstairs when watching Die Hard 4.

All in all, given the only other cheap alternative was the Labtec and the cheapest 5.1 quality brand speakers are four times as much, these are excellent value for what you get. Don't expect ANY bass though unless you have separate 5.1 controls on your soundcard.

I have tried tablets before, and been very disappointed in the results. The Trust Slimline Design Tablet really is light to handle, very responsive, and completely WISWYG. I am not an expert user, so this really is highly recommended. It will help me to personalise my lectures.

I needed a mouse as I could not get used to the mouse pad on the laptop. This mouse was the cheapest I could find on Amazon and it installed straight from the box via USB.

I have been using it every day for the last two months and I have had no problems with it, except that the laptop sometimes 'forgets' what the mouse is for and I have to unplug it and then plug it back in; this is a minor foible and may actually be a problem with the Microsoft installed driver.

The other reviewer complains that it did not scroll fast enough. This can be changed in the Control Panel on the computer and is not a fault with the mouse; mine scrolls perfectly well at the speed I have set it at.

For the price, this is an excellent mouse and one that I am very happy with, considering that I could have paid over £15 for an 'official' Microsoft example.

Excellent product works just fine, never had a problem. Cannot understand all the negative reviews regarding the closeness of the ports, most PC'S have at least 4 or 6 slots plus the 7, how many do you really need?
