I got it last week, great quality image, the sound isn't bad, it is in our bedroom and iti is enough, it plays DVDs and DivX v6 videos, multiple ports available (VGA port to connect to PC inc. audio port for PC), we are going to get one more for the kitchen as it is light and it goes with the rest of furniture.

Great Portable DVD Player, 2008-09-27
First of all the delivery from amazon was great, I ordered the player on a sunday and received it on wednesday.
As for the DVD player it is excellent for a number of reasons. Firstly the size, i had a DVD payer before which was seven inches and this is much better; you'd be surprised how much difference 2 inches makes.
Next the design, it has a very sleek black design which looks great and the 180 degree swivel screen makes it very easy to use. As for the sound it isn't of a great quality but all DVD players are like this and the player makes a small sound while playing DVD's but this isn't distracting and again pretty much all DVD players do this. Also the DVD player comes with a bag which i think is necessary for any DVD player if you don't want it to scratch to soon, and many other accessories which most other dvd players don't come with now.

Great tv for the price, 2008-11-01
I purchased this tv in september and i think its fantastic for the price.
The picture quality on xbox 360 is fantastic, blu ray discs look awesome, batman begins and terminator 2 look fantastic.

The sound is very clear, great bass. it doesnt get crackly at high volume.

The freeview picture is supprisingly good, its clear and rarely ever blocky.

one of the best purchases i've ever made.

Toshiba laptop, 2008-12-05
This is a great mid range laptop, great screen, good processor and ample RAM. Battery life is 2 hrs 40 mins if you use power saver. I would recommend this to any user except the high power gamers among you but it fairs well with lots of games. Definitely a good buy.

Misleading tech specs, 2008-07-30
Before buying this TV on Amazon, I checked it out in my local electricals superstore where one was on display in the middle of a selection of its main competitors in the same price range, all showing the same (non-HD) demo. This had the clearest picture, the richest colours and, to my eyes, looked best as a box. It was difficult to guage the sound quality in those circumstances, though.

The TV was well packed in its easy-to-open box (a couple of easy-release catches on each end meant that the box just slipped over the top, leaving the TV itself easy to lift out and carry to its position.

Two items of the technical specs disappointed me a little, but not enough to warrant a major complaint: this model is stated to include a PC input, but this is meant to be via one of its two HDMI sockets - not what I was expecting (especially as this PC does not have an HDMI or DVI output).

I was also a little surprised to find that unlike the 18 year-old Toshiba this TV is replacing, it does not feature proper audio out connectors - I would imagine that most potential purchasers would want to feed the audio through a dedicated sound system (as I do) and the headphone jack simply isn't up to the job. Along with a couple more HDMI inputs, this is perhaps something Toshiba needs to address in any future upgrade of this otherwise excellent series of TVs!

A Very Good Buy, 2008-08-21
Had this now for a week, it's does what its says on the tin. A fine TV for the money.
I chose this 37 inch version as the best size for my room, and the fact it's HD ready (not the full 1080 HD)
I am not concerned that HD is coming with amount of TV I actually watch and the additional £100 for HD,is just not worth it from my point of view

I have now watched most of the 2008 Olympics and the picture was fine for all the events.

The inbuilt Freeview tuner works fine, although the sound "spikes" when their is major interference to the Freeview signal.
Other kit I have connected and tested it with
Humax PVR-9200T attached via scart, picture was better than my old Phillips 28" CRT
Samsung DVD player attached via scart, picture fine
Freecom mediaplayer-35 attached by video inoput socket; I use this to play AVI files on my TV,picture was way better than I expected.
Canon Camera : it did struggle to show photo JPG's in good quality

I don't have HDMI kit yet, so I have not tried the 2 HDMI ports
I don't have Sky (I am not giving the News Corp my money)

Good points
Screen autoscales fine, and the selection to adjust Screen size is simple
HD ready : I am not concerned with the rush to HD, if you want to see the grey hairs on a presenters head then thats for you not me
Remote Control : no real problem with this , it just takes a little getting use to.
Freeze button (on remote): grabs to current picture frame while to commentary runs on. Just a nice feature
Extremely good value for the money

Bad points
The Manual (like most) to do with improvement, it took me ages to find the Aeril socket (it's well hidden)
The screen did struggle with the Film shown on Film 4 the "Sky Captain and the world of Tomorrow",the film has large Areas of "off-white" that the screen had minor problems coping with.

Toshiba Camileo Pro Camcorder

I purchased this with a view to making short clips and wanted a small light camcorder, Unfortunately the first one I bought would switch off it,s screen now and again, also had very poor sound, a new replacement camcorder was supplied by Amazon with no fuss, the new one works well picturewise and is easy to use with straightforward menus and a simple handy design, movie quality is reasonably good and one hour twenty two minutes can be recorded at high quality setting on a 2gb card bought seperately, the internal memory is tiny and not really any use.
Unfortunately the sound level and quality is extremely poor on this camcorder as well, looks like this may be common to the range, in fact the sound is almost inaudible, very very poor microphone pickup.
Overall the camcorder performs well and is good value for money, the issue with the audio really spoils it for me though.

Good it is, a player for the car it isn't, 2008-09-27
I bought this DVD player to use by my daughter in the car and for myself while working away. The quality is first class with a rubber like covering on the outside of the top. The sound is excellent and combined with a screen that displays the colours in great depth, this was well worth the money. The only downside is that the bag is not designed to be used to hold the player in a car. when the top of the bag is open to watch the screen, the only thing which holds the player in place is a velcro strap which fastens across the loading lid. This means you cannot swap DVD's without removing the player from the bag. If you want a quality DVD player, this stills makes an excellent purchase.
