- 1080 Upscaling via HDMI
- JPEG, DivX version 6 & MP3 Play
- Composite, Scart & HDMI Output
- XDE technology
Great upscaling player!, 2008-12-08 I find the upscaling prowess of this player to be awesome, giving a superbly detailed picture, much better than I was expecting, and representing fine value for the money.
I also find the controls/buttons on both the player and remote to be quick and responsive; no problems at all.

- TOSHIBA DVD RECORDER
- 2 X SCART CONNECTIONS AND 1 X HDMI CONNECTION
- IN BLACK
- 160GB HARD DRIVE
ITS NOT SKY PLUS!!!, 2008-12-12 This is my 3rd Tosh HDD recorder. The first cost over £600, and its still going strong. All 3 have been fantastic, top functions and never gone wrong. The reviewer who say you cant record a channel whilst watching another needs to get Sky Plus, how does he expect to receive 2 channels at the same time? Thats why you have a twin LNB on a Sky dish, and are we in the same time zone as the other reviewer? By that I mean when he talks about waiting for a minute to start up, is that the same minute that contains 60 seconds? There really is no pleasing some people. 5 STAR MACHINE!!!!!!

HDMI Nirvana, 2008-09-10 Having read the other reviews here on Amazon, i decided first on buyinhg the Sony KDL26S3000 as the best bet for a wall mounted TV in our kitchen.
The plan was to run it on the HDMI output of our SKY HD box from the lounge via a HDMI distribution system in the loft (consisting of a HDMI splitter and 4 HDMI cable runs to different rooms).
Unfortunately, the Sony could not hold down a proper picture from the HDMI cable at all.. it seemed to be continually scanning but only occasionally locking onto a picture, before losing it again.
Because i have a few other TVs (Pioneer 43" plasma, and Toshiba 32" LCD) to test with, i was able to isolate the problem to the Sony implementation of HDMI interface on this TV. It may well be fine on a much shorter run HDMI cable, but is definitely more fussy than some other manufacturers' technology.
It was sent straight back and i bought the Toshiba 26" lcd instead (Toshiba 26AV505D), which works perfectly on the same cable setup.
It has a very glossy black fascia, in the style of the more common Samsungs you see everywhere. It has a nice straightforward setup procedure. The Digital freeview implementation seems solid enough.
I had to adjust the standard settings quite a bit (to tone down the default colour and brightness settings).
But the main reason i bought this TV is because i have an earlier 32" Toshiba which i knew to be fine on a long HDMI cable which goes via a HDMI splitter in the loft (it is 20m + 15m : 35M total). And the new 26" toshiba is equally at home with this long HDMI cable setup.
This means we get Sky HD in another room in the house which is a far more important issue for us than the relatively minor comparative differences that distinguish LCD TVs from different manufacturers these days.
I thought i would add this review for any buyers who are also interested in the HDMI input, possibly on a long cable run, or via a splitter or coupler like me.

Toshiba NB100 , 2008-12-15 After reading many reviews on the Acer Aspire One netbooks (which are mainly fantastic reviews), I then saw the Toshiba NB100 appear as a second option for me. I went down to a local store and looked at both the machines in the flesh. The thing that sold this for me personally, was the fact that this was smaller than the Acer netbook and for me one of the key things for portability is size. I estimate the NB100 to be about four fifths the size of the acer. Now, I have read other reviews on this and some comments are fair, however, don't expect large keys on a small machine! Logic tells you that if you want large keys, then don't go for a netbook as they are designed to be compact and easily transportable - you simply ain't gonna get large keys on a small machine. The Acer does have slightly larger keys, but is larger in overall size too. I prefer the trackpad layout on the NB100 - it is standard design with the buttons below the trackpad itself - the Acer has the buttons to each side. I have not found this machine to get what I would call hot - yes, it gets quite warm, but nowhere near as hot as Dell laptops that I have used. The in-built web cam is adequate, however, don't expect to make box office hit movies on it! Overall, a great machine, nice compact size, with Toshiba reliability.

- 19" HD Ready LCD Screen

Disppointing, 2008-11-13 Firstly, as a previous reviewer said, this is a great looking TV. I checked it out in the flesh before I placed my order via Amazon and I was excited about it being delivered. Unfortunately, that is where the excitement ended.
Upon arrival I attached the tv effortlessly to the wall mount that I had purchased along with it. Fitting the wall mount was simple and effective and I was up and running in no time. Within seconds of turning it on however I noticed that there was a large luminous pair of "dead" pixels just to the left of the centre of the screen. I immediately packaged it back up, contacted Amazon, and ordered a replacement. A few days later the replacement arrived. I turned it on and...yep, the new set had a similar problem. But on this occasion the picture was only affected by one slightly less noticeable red "dead" pixel, again to the left of centre. Not only that but this set appeared to suffer from a dim humming type noise whenever the set was on. Extremely unhappy, I packaged this set up too and proceeded to cancel my order. I am in the process of returning this item too and am expecting a full refund.
In terms of other aspects of the product, I found the screen to be capable of displaying decent imagery and colour from head-on, but if you are slightly to the side, or even above or below, a direct line of sight view the images darken and become difficult to distinguish. The sound quality is also not class leading: I'd expect better from even a 19" TV.
In addition to the screen quality gripes I found the remote control to be poorly laid out and totally non-intuitive. The channel buttons are fine and of a nice size but the additional service buttons (such as those for selecting text/digital services, sound and picture modes) are too small and somewhat unresponsive.
OK, so I may have been the unfortunate recipient of tvs from a faulty batch but I suspect not. I also don't think I have been overly picky. With so many reliable sets on the market we have no responsibility to accept second best or devices that are not fully fit for purpose; especially when they are brand new. As anyone knows, faulty pixels are irritating at the worst of times, but on a tv as small as this they are very, very easy to spot, and detract from the overall quality of the viewing experience.
In summary, I was wholly disappointed by this set and am looking forward to receiving my Samsung replacement.

- Multi format recording and playback

- DivX playback
- Integrated digital tuner
- Dolby digital/DTS output
FANTASTIC, 2008-11-02 This item has everything you need DVD player, Video and Freewiew all in one machine and one remote. All this for a fantastic price too. You do need to supply your own scart lead (a small additional cost).
Normally my television reception in my area is rubbish, so I don't get many channels. But the Freeview built in was fantastic and picked up most (if not all) the freeview channels.
I was very worried that this would be complicated to tune in, but it could not have been easier. Just remember to switch the machine to VCR mode to watch Freeview.
