Camileo Pro Camcorder - TOSHIBA - PA3620E-1CAM
Toshiba Camileo Pro, 2008-09-13 I purchased this with a view to making short clips and wanted a small light camcorder, Unfortunately the first one I bought would switch off it,s screen now and again, also had very poor sound, a new replacement camcorder was supplied by Amazon with no fuss, the new one works well picturewise and is easy to use with straightforward menus and a simple handy design, movie quality is reasonably good and one hour twenty two minutes can be recorded at high quality setting on a 2gb card bought seperately, the internal memory is tiny and not really any use.
Unfortunately the sound level and quality is extremely poor on this camcorder as well, looks like this may be common to the range, in fact the sound is almost inaudible, very very poor microphone pickup.
Overall the camcorder performs well and is good value for money, the issue with the audio really spoils it for me though.

- TOSHIBA UPSCALING DVD PLAYER
- 1 X HDMI CONNECTIONS AND 1 X SCART CONNECTIONS
- MP3 PLAYBACK
- IN BLACK
Does it all, 2008-10-07 Have had one of these for a while. I thought it would crash alot but it just doesn't. The picture quality of ordinary DVDs on my HD TV can only be described as fantastic. The sound output from this to my dvd surroud is also great.
It's real bonus is the USB input. You would think it would only be good for memory sticks, but no.
I have a 500GB ext hard disk permenantly resident on top of it. It is easy to navigate around all your folders and movies on an external hard disk. And even a 1.5gb movie running at about 90 mins has a very good quality picture. It is happy with avi's mpeg4's, though video with small dimensions like 352 X 288 will not fill a large TV screen and will black border around the edge.
In short, for this price, BUY IT TODAY.

Toshiba RDXV48DT Good but read the manual, 2008-10-17 I bought the product last week and looked forward to using it straight away. Being male and a technician I set to and connected everything up but it didn't work like I expected.
Reading the manual (which is not the easiest I have ever read) sorted the problems out and the results are very good. The worst problem was when I came to try to copy and edit some tapes. Unless you are very experienced at video editing you must read and constantly refer to the manual, so have it to hand. At 103 pages it is quite long and the people who wrote it must have assumed that the user is already knowledgeable. That is my only complaint..Could have been written better.
Other than that the picture quality is excellent, and the Tuner produces the best pictures I have seen. Almost glitch free viewing.
Fully recommended.

Does what it says on the box, 2008-07-07 First - excellent delivery. Ordered Friday, delivered Monday morning.
First impressions are excellent. Video quality is super - indoors as well as outside, but I need to try low light. And still photos are good as well. I am using HD video and 5mpixels - the default settings. The 3x optical zoom works smoothly - even while filming (despite other reviews) Playback through my 1080p LCD was super, using the supplied composite video cable. The little remote control made this easy to manage and can make the thing record and take stills as well - handy if mounted on a tripod. Playback using Media Player didn't work, despite installing the codec from the supplied CD. But both QuickTime and RealPlayer worked well, with QT being a bit smoother. It charges from the supplied mini-usb charger and will also charge from a computer's USB socket - despite reports to the contrary in a forum. So - excellent so far.
There are several different Camileo models - so just to be clear, this is the Pro HD. What you DON'T get with this model is:- a tripod, mp3 playback, movement sensing, web cam capability, digital zoom and ebook reading. But the HD quality more than makes up for these. One thing I would like is to be able to load MP4 files and JPG files from other sources onto the SD card and then use the Camileo to play them back - but I can't make it do that.
P.S. loaded the K-lite set of codecs - Media Player works well now.

no reservations what so ever!!, 2008-11-05 I have the toshiba regza tv hooked up to this with a hdmi cable and we have none of the above problems, the remote is a bit cheap looking but our tv remote operates it anyway as they a re a matched set, we got this to replace our phillips upscaling div x dvd player which went bang just outside the guaruntee but this player makes me glad it did the sound and picture quality are way and above what I already thought was brilliant, the sound and picture quality are so good! would recommend to everyone Wow! I will keep this updated if we do have any problems and will update if it doesnt last that long if I dont update assume its still working and still well pleased, but weve never had any trouble with toshiba before they go on until they are outdated in my experience weve never worn one out yet. Really pleased buy one.

- New Model Released in October 2008
- Builti-in Freeview and upgradable to Setanta (by optional Setanta Cam)
- High Defenition (HD Ready) - 1366 Pixels
- Includes Pedistal Stand
Spot a superb picture, 2008-10-31 I procrastinated over which TV to get to replace our existing LCD - and I'm so glad I bought this!
The picture is superb to the point that instead of watching what was going on I was mesmerised by what poor skin the actors had! And the clothes that the actors were wearing looked as though I could just reach over and stroke the material.
It was really easy to set up as well although I was bemused trying to find where the aerial went as everything else was so clearly marked.
I'd recommend this TV to any of my friends.

Toshiba
- 19" HD Ready LCD Screen
- 1440x900 Resolution
- 8500:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
- 1 x Scart & 1 x HDMI Socket
- NICAM stereo
superb little tv, 2008-10-20 On the positive side, the aesthetic is great, a nice gloss black frame and pedestal stand. The screen also delivers a nice sharp picture with nice clear blacks. The digital television guide is excellent. Setup is incredibly easy (from opening the box and plugging it in you press okay twice and you can watch tv). The remote is comprehensive. The pedestal stand has a modest amount of tilt. The stand can be removed and the screen wall-mounted. Gaming (XBOX 1) and DVD (via Scart) performed well with DVD handling particularly impressive.
On the negative side, most reviews elsewhere have commented on the poor sound. To put it in perspective, the sound is tinny, but no worse than comparable lcd's of this size. But it is tinny and suited mainly to use in a bedroom or kitchen. Despite this, the clarity is good and speech well-defined and it can be turned up louder than most of us would ever need. My main gripe would be the lack of connections, just one HDMI, one scart and no PC in. But for watching freeview, DVD and plugging in a games system, it does the job. There is also a little colour bleed around the edges from the backlight, but it is barely noticeable and not apt to spoil the viewing experience.
I have not tested the handling of HD inputs, so cannot comment on that front.
At the price, be assured, this is a class-leading product and probably comes in a smaller package than a 19" measurement would suggest. Buy with confidence. I also found the Amazon Express service faultless.

Toshiba
Very Satisfied, 2008-09-13 I spent a great deal of time researching 37 inch full HD Lcd's and finally settled on this Toshiba 37XV505D (same spec as the 503D but slightly different cosmetically). For the price this TV is outstanding value. Feed a decent quality signal in this and the results are very, very good. Setting up the TV for Freeview is simple and takes a couple of minutes. The SD quality on Freewview is very good, watching CBeebies on chanel 71 with my grandchildren shows just how good this TV is. Sky+ SD quality is also good especially the sport channels. Hooking this up to SKY HD is something I am looking forward to. It does take a bit of time to get the picture set up to your preference but its well worth it. Dont leave it set on the default Dynamic-User settings, they are way over the top. The sound is not the best but its not that bad. There is plenty of volume there but the vocals sound a bit muffled for want of a better word. I was dissapointed in that the Digital Optical output is only from the DTV (Freeview) Source. I have a Toshiba HD EP30 Dvd hooked up to this and the full HD picture is breathtaking. This set was recently given a best buy in one of the TV review magazines which meant that demand has increased for this unit. If you buy this you will not be dissapointed.
Edit to add:::: - Have hooked SKY+ HD and the picture is amazing !

The best £33 I have spent in many years., 2008-10-25 I bought this product after reading Andrew Swainson's review, I followed his instructions and bingo - region free viewing at last.
I have 3 DVD players and 2 recorders a couple of them over the £400 bracket, not one of them responded to any of the hacks I was able to find, they may have indicated they would but when I inserted a disc "region-code error" or a similar message appeared. However, this little beauty kicked in straight away and has recognised and played Region 1 & 4 discs, plays TV recordings, copied discs and S-VCD and that's all I've tried so far. It's slim and very unobtrusive (unlike me) and looks far better than the price tag would suggest. Setting the machine up was an absolute doddle.
For a B-movie fan like me this is the best £30 plus postage I have spent in years, now I can start to get hold of a wealth of movies that I have always wanted over the years that are only available on Region 1.
Well done Toshiba.
