bought this product as a back up to my 2-3 year old Sandisk extreme III for use in a Nikon D300. Not knowing the speed of the extreme III and thinking it's based on 2-3 years old technolody and the transcend has ultra speed 133x written all over it, I was a little disppointed to find that it recorded data at half the speed of the extreem III and hence would use twice as much battery power. It'll do fine as a back up though.

I bought the 2GB version. It works seamlessly. No faults or data loss what so ever. It also comes with the neat little software package which allows this drive to become BOOTABLE. What this basically means is that you can start-up your desktop PC without removing it from the USB port. Other softwares include password protection and a couple of others I have not seen. This is an up-to-date Flash Memory stick so you also need not worry about DATA TRANSFER speeds.

I am very satisfied all in all. For the price, there's nothing more you can possibly ask for.

Ruined by software, 2008-11-20
I've had a JF220 for about a month now. On balance it is not good. The basic boimetric design, installation and operation is fine. However, the manufacturer should have put more effort into the software drivers and less into the "password bank" concept.

I have continuous problems to get the device to be recognised so that the "identity authorisation" page will load. I nearly always have to manually run the pdstart program on the fake CD Rom drive. 50% of the time this works and shows me the login page. 30% of the time it just does nothing and 20% of the time it tells me it is already running. This is across 3 different computers that I use daily. Time to kill of PdGuide.EXE and try again and again and again.

That would not be so bad except then you get to PwdBank.exe. As usual, they couldn't just stop at a biometric drive, they had to get clever. This PwdBank program loads automatically and looks for ANY window containing the words Username and Password. This could include an e-mail in Outlook, nothing to do with a website login. Very often I find 2 or more copies of PwdBank running and fighting with Outlook, chewing 100% of the CPU.

Website login is no better because it often freezes the web page and does not prompt for permission to store the data. Once again, task manager is needed to kill of PwdBank. But it comes back whether you like it or not.

If it works and you tell it "no don't store" it does not remember this and goes on to prompt you every other time you go to that site. It is both difunctional and annoying and I can't find any way to turn it off.

Great hardware (even if slow) but awful software. Where is the manufacturer support, I can't find it????

great product, but amazons poor packaging made it late, 2007-06-01
While the card works fine, i was a little dissapointed in amazon. as the only item in the order, i was expecting the card to come in a small packet via royal mail. instead, the card was placed on its own in a huge box about 18x16x12 inches in size, for one tiny card!

not only that, as the box obviously did not fit through the lettr box, when the delivery man first arrived, we were not in so he had to call back the day after to try again.

the service and silly packaging by amazon surely has blotted their copy book of fine service so far with me.

buy the product, but buy other things to fill the box!
