The new Memory Stick Micro (M2) is an an ultra small memory card designed to meet the needs of highly compact, multifunctional mobile phones. For use with many Sony Ericsson mobile phones including: Z530i, K790i,
Sony does it again, 2008-05-26 I bought this a few days ago. Transfer speed is great. My PC is an over clocked (to 3.0ghz) core 2 duo and as such it transfers stuff quickly anyway.
Filled the card with music in 14 minutes. From a review I read about a San Disk M2 card, I would recommend paying a few quid extra for the Sony card.
These things are so small though!
It didn't come with an adaptor.

So small, so light, so amazing, 2008-02-09 Without exaggeration - when I unpacked this little item I thought that it couldn't possibly be much good: It was as light, and almost as small, as an empty box of matches - but the quality of reception is amazing. I have two other, mini radios, neither of which can receive much inside the house. But this little radio tuned in perfectly, without any hint of phasing or lost signal as I moved from room to room. As for outside - well, obviously, there is no problem at all.
The unit comes with a useful, integral belt or pocket clip which is just as well as it's so small and light, it might get lost if unconnected to the earphones.
The tuning slider is firm and doesn't slip and although this isn't a digital receiver, there appears to be no problem with tuning.
The earpieces which come with it are of good quality, although personally I've never liked that sort of unit, so I've ordered some Sony MDR-W08L Headphones which will suit me better.
All-in-all - I thoroughly recommend this little radio.

Sony
- Reduces exterior noise by more than 70 percent (10 dB at 300 Hz) so you can hear music against a quieter background
- Active noise reduction from 40 to 1,500 Hz using 1 AAA battery (not included); extended battery life approximately 30 hours
- Compact size and folding design allows easy storage in a backpack, briefcase, or purse
- Noise-canceling on/off switch; headphones work with or without power
- Includes soft carrying case and airplane adapter plug
Do They Actually Work?, 2008-08-14 Yes. As passive headphones, they work as well as any stereo headphones would be expected to. When the noise cancellation is turned on, there is a noticeable level of background hiss. (In theory, white noise tends to make interference less annoying subjectively.) In the home, any external noises are reduced significantly. These include a washing machine spinning, a dishwasher or even the fan in a lap-top. Obviously, noise reduction cannot perform miracles (e.g. noise in a tube train) but, for the price, they have a place in the market compared to those costing ten times as much.

Navigating the features on the player is so easy and the detailed display it has is great. In short, its AMAZING.

The new Reader from Sony is the perfect way to store and read digital books. With enough space for up to 160 eBooks, it has a long battery life and amazing paper-like screen. Its smaller than the average paper back and easy to use.
Huge amount of free or cheap content, 2008-11-07 I am new to the world of eBooks so it came as a shock to discover just how much free and cheap content there is available. Of course most of this has been around for a while but it suddently becomes a lot more interesting when you can access it on a gadget that reads like a printed book. There are a growing number of sites offering compatible books but right now the Sony bookstore seems to be selling at promo prices. At least they were the cheapest in the top 10 best sellers when I looked and significantly cheaper than the printed version.
One of the most exciting things is that RSS feeds can be downloaded to the Reader. I get daily updates from BBC news, The Guardian and the New York Times news feeds. Go to mobileread.net and get Calibre - the connect software Sony should have written and add your own feeds. They display well on the Reader and include images. Also download Wikipedia pages, blogs and web pages for offline reading.
The Reader has a couple of usability features I really like. The display can be changed from portrait to landscape so you hold it horizontally. I find I can read faster this way and the page change button is still conveniently placed under your right thumb. The buttons down the side provide a kind of browse feature whilst reading. To open the book near the begining press one of the buttons near the top, the middle button skips to the half way point etc. Hold down the page turn button to skip on 10 pages. It is easy to browse through a book and get an idea of what it contains without reading it all - not as good as a paper book but not bad.
Overall the Sony Reader succeeds as a usable eBook reader which was an ambitious objective. But the technology is still in its infancy so this is not one for the technophobes.
